General Hospital Spoilers: Cates Is Guilty Of Austin’s Long Ago Murder!

General Hospital spoilers tease that it’s been a little less than a year since Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) was murdered in his home and his killer has never been found. Whoever killed Austin seemingly was taunting Ava Jerome (Maura West) with disturbing messages and pictures relating to the murder. But then, the messages stopped and Austin has been largely forgotten. But his murderer still needs to be brought to justice.

General Hospital Spoilers – Austin Gatlin-Holt’s Murder May Be Connected To Cyrus Renault

Right before Austin was murdered, he was about to turn in evidence incriminating Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) for several crimes the police had not yet connected with the drug kingpin.

Cyrus didn’t likely kill Austin himself since he had just recently been released from Pentonville himself. But there might be someone else who may have been Cyrus’ ally for quite awhile.

Viewers may remember that FBI Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) still hasn’t revealed how he obtained the recording of Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that he used to force Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) to work undercover for him.

GH Spoilers – Cyrus Renault And John Cates May Have A Secret Connection

Cyrus and Selina Wu (Lydia Look) were both present at the meeting where Carly admitted she had taken over the Corinthos Organization during the time that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) was presumed dead.

It seems quite likely that Cyrus was the one who provided Cates with the damaging recording of Carly.

That would indicate that Cates and Cyrus have a previously unknown connection and perhaps Cates didn’t want Austin getting in the way of his partnership with Cyrus by incriminating Cyrus in more criminal activity.

General Hospital Spoilers – John Cates Is Manipulating Ava Jerome

Perhaps it was Cates all along who was sending Ava pictures of Austin’s dead body in the hopes of manipulating her into helping out his case against Sonny.

That’s exactly what Cates is doing to Ava now by forcing her to testify that Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) tried to kill her.

If Cates killed Austin, then he could have be the one planning to use Ava all along in his plot to put Sonny in prison for the rest of his life.
