Chase has been obsessed with Michael Corinthos’ (Rory Gibson) downfall for what feels like forever, but that fixation will lead to a downfall of his own!
Since Chase has become Willow Cain’s (Katelyn MacMullen) biggest defender in recent months, he refuses to see what she’s capable of.
Chase convinced himself that Michael had to be guilty of shooting Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) – and after testing the keys on Michael’s keychain, he was even more convinced.
Since Chase found a key that granted him entrance to Drew’s home, he gave Nathan West (Ryan Paevey) a nudge to check Michael’s keys to see if he had access.
Giving Nathan that idea will come back to haunt Chase now that Ric Lansing (Rick Hearst) has spilled big news.
In GH’s February 19 episode, Ric pointed out that an eyewitness saw Chase handling Michael’s keys.

Of course, Ric was talking about Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), who indeed alerted Ric to Chase getting his hands on Michael’s key ring.
It sounds like Chase is about to find himself under fire for setting Michael up. Chase will deny it, but Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and others involved in this case may have a hard time believing that under the circumstances.
It was Willow who planted that key instead, but Chase may take the fall for it despite his protests in the coming episodes.
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) was finally ready to adopt a child with Chase, but their family plan will soon be derailed.
Chase already has a strike against him for investigating on his own and making the PCPD look bad during Willow’s trial.

That mess resulted in Chase getting demoted to patrol cop, but he may get flat-out fired following this keychain fiasco.
Chase could potentially even face charges over this, so Brook Lynn certainly won’t be pleased over the scandal he’s caught up in.
After Chase swears he only tested the key and didn’t actually plant it, Brook Lynn may suspect Willow framed Michael instead. Chase might rush to Willow’s defense once more and add to Brook Lynn’s fury.
Brook Lynn may refuse to move ahead with the adoption process since Chase is causing so much upheaval and can’t even keep his job.
Chase is more focused on putting Michael behind bars than anything else, so Brook Lynn may argue that he’s not ready to be a father.
This could lead to serious marriage trouble for Brook Lynn and Chase, so we have to consider whether their love will survive.
In addition to possibly getting fired and losing this opportunity to adopt, Chase could wind up divorced, too.
