General Hospital Spoilers: Curtis Ashford Pays Oz Haggerty Like An Undercover Cop Pays An Informant
It’s understandable that Curtis would pay Oz like an undercover cop would pay an informant, given that Curtis was a cop years ago and a private investigator after that. But this could be problematic to Trina’s case, especially since Trina herself, an underage minor along with Josslyn Jacks, (Eden McCoy) also underage, found this lead. A bar like the Highsiders’ Bar is much different the The Metro Court or The Savoy, which while they have liquor licenses and serve liquor, they are set up like restaurants.
Just the fact that two underage girls set foot into The Highsiders’ Bar with one of them facing charges is a problem. And Curtis, paying an informant to testify in a criminal case as a private citizen, not an undercover detective, is also a problem.
GH Spoilers: The Trial Has Begun And Trina Robinson And Friends And Family Are Worried
The trial has begun, and Trina and her friends and family are worried; no one believes she’s guilty, but there still isn’t any proof to exonerate her! All the character witnesses in the world can’t trump Jordan pulling the exact phone out of Trina’s purse that the revenge porn was filmed on and used to upload it.
The Port Charles Police tip line is anonymous, so even though technology could prove the tip off call came from Esmé’s phone, it cannot be used in court. This is exactly why Curtis is choosing to pay Oz Haggerty for his information and to testify that he sold the phone to Esmé. Attorney Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) agrees it’s the only shot they have right now at exonerating her and agrees to put him on the stand, but the payment has to remain secret.
General Hospital Spoilers: Jordan Ashford Gets Wind Of The Bartender Being Called To Testify
Jordan gets wind of the bartender being called to testify, and being under an arrangement like a police informant, meaning no legal consequences. Haggerty cannot be arrested for any crime he may have an outstanding warrant for as a stipulation of his testimony, and Jordan smells a rat. When she finds out Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) attorney set this up, she isn’t surprised – although Diane represents Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) more than Sonny these days.
As the Police Commissioner, Jordan can look into the case files and dockets of the Superior Court, and she digs into Trina’s case. She sees Officer Rory Cabrera (Michael Blake Kruse) had put a “be on the lookout”, or BOLO, on this witness previously.
GH Spoilers: Jordan Ashford Finds Out Curtis Ashford Found The Bartender, Questions His Motives
Jordan digs more and finds out Curtis found the bartender and questions his motives in having Oz Haggerty called to testify for Trina’s case. She asks him what was he thinking, hunting a private citizen down and influencing him to testify in a criminal case? Again the issue comes up that caused them to separate; she thinks Curtis as a civilian has no business trying to find witnesses to help Trina.
She complains what Curtis has done is illegal; he’s not even holding a private investigator license. Anything that Haggerty could testify for her will be tossed out of court because of illegalities and inconsistencies in obtaining the evidence, and Trina will still be in trouble.
