Of course, there is more than her recovery for Curtis to be concerned over, although optimistic. There will be huge bills to pay even if Jordan has excellent health insurance, because there are always deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance bills before the insurance will pay anything, and with the type of situation Jordan has been in and the length of time that she has been in the hospital, they are likely to be substantial, even if they don’t get the final bills until after she’s released.
That is because the hospital billing department cannot know how much to charge until they bill the insurance company the final charges, and the insurance company settles up with them and they get a statement of what the insurance will pay the hospital, after which the hospital will bill the patient for the rest. Then there are the things that the insurance doesn’t cover that the hospital bills the patient for, such as meals, telephone calls, wi-fi and anything else.
As any General Hospital viewer who has ever been or ever had a loved one in the hospital already knows, it’s not just the hospital bills Curtis and Jordan will have to be concerned with; there will be doctor’s, lab, radiology, and possibly other charges that will be charged separately from General Hospital’s charges, and all their co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance charges as well! Curtis is probably going to try to hide those bills as they come from Jordan, because he will not want her to worry about those in addition to everything else she worries about!
Curtis will remain optimistic that somehow, somewhere, the money will be found or the jobs will be given him to help pay these astounding amounts of medical bills; even though he has friends, Drew Cain (Billy Miller) among them who have offered to pay Jordan’s expenses, he will continue to turn them down because he’s probably too proud to take what he considers charity! Curtis, as an independent contractor in his private investigator business, might have a hard time getting a loan in those amounts as well, even if both he and Jordan cosigned!

So after all of the foolishness regarding Jordan’s transplant, writers of this board are being realistic about Jordan’s hospital expenses?? Not believable that someone needing a kidney transplant would be more worried about catching a killer and giving out an award than their own life and medical health. Understand that Jordan is serious about her job, but due to the fact that she hasn’t done much regarding protecting the citizens of PC, can’t understand why she just had to remain so involved in cases while almost dying. In recent years, the PC Police Chief hasn’t had many duties in my opinion. Glad Jordan recovered, but for Curtis or anyone else involved in the (Get Jordan a Kidney anyway possible plan), going to jail is senseless as a donor from the list could have come forward and there would have been no need for involving Ryan’s kidney. Perhaps Ryan will die (for real this time), and it will not have to be revealed as to the conspiracy to get his kidney – so the case would be closed permanently.
