General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus Renault’s Power Play – Who Can Stop Him?

Cyrus Renault, general hospital spoilersGeneral Hospital (GH) spoilers revealed that drug kingpin, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) could be in a position to begin making power moves whilst living in Port Charles. GH fans know that Cyrus has talked an awful lot about making investments in whatever he feels might bring him a profit. Some GH viewers believe that’s going to bring Cyrus into head-to-head conflict with either Mafioso, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) or the cunning Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart). The question is, which will it be?

General Hospital Spoilers Scoop – Cyrus Disses Sonny in Secret

Everyone knows by now that Cyrus accepted the terms Sonny laid out for him. If Cyrus wants to live in Port Charles, no problem. However, none of Cyrus’s “product” (drugs), can pass through Sonny’s territory. Moreover, Cyrus can’t allow his business to touch Sonny’s business in any way, shape or form. If that happens, any deal Cyrus felt was in place would be considered null and void.

Of course, most GH fans don’t believe that Cyrus intends to keep his word to Sonny at all. Oh, Cyrus might keep his word on the face of things, but behind the scenes many feel the criminal mastermind will be working to subvert the deal with Sonny. Moreover, Cyrus will be using the peace to test and probe Sonny’s defenses … looking for Sonny’s weak spot so the next time they come into conflict, Cyrus comes out on top.

GH fans know that Sonny isn’t stupid, however. He is bound to have his own men monitoring Cyrus. Additionally, Sonny’s already expressed to his mob enforcer best friend, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) that he’s also biding his time … waiting for the right moment to strike and take Cyrus out for good.

ABC General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Makes an Enemy of Valentin

While Valentin Cassadine isn’t really a mafia player, everyone knows that he is a cunning businessman who hasn’t been afraid to attempt murder in the past. After all, wasn’t it Valentin who pushed Ava Jerome (Maura West) off of a castle parapet and into the Port Charles bay far below? Some GH fans believe that if Valentin discovers Cyrus creeping up on his business investments, he’ll do more than simply sic Martin Gray (Michael E. Knight) on him.

For his part, Cyrus may find that the businesses he believes may bring him profit, when once he gets his tentacles into them, are the same businesses Valentin’s put in his portfolio. For example, Cyrus might begin investing heavily in ELQ or Deception. Cyrus may not start out to be a competitor of Valentin’s but seeing as they might both have some of the same interests; they’re bound to come into conflict.

Valentin doesn’t have his own personal assassin the way Sonny does, but Valentin could very well do Jason Morgan’s job for him if he feels his interests are significantly threatened.

General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Might Be Smarter Than You Think

On the other hand, Cyrus Renault may be smarter than many GH fans give him credit for. He has shown himself to be a master chess player, a king at both strategy and tactics. Does anyone really believe Cyrus won’t know that Sonny is keeping tabs on him? Does anyone think that Cyrus won’t do his due diligence to know and understand just who the power players are in Port Charles? Does anyone believe that Cyrus won’t know which businesses Valentin is trying to acquire?

The truth is, Cyrus may have information on all of these things. Cyrus may set himself up for long-term success by refusing to go head to head with either Sonny or Valentin. In fact, Port Charles just might see Cyrus become the head of an incredibly successful criminal organization that’s hard to pin down … or prosecute.

When all is said and done, horrible though it is to say, Sonny and Valentin both might have more to gain by allying with Cyrus than by going to war with him.
