General Hospital Spoilers: Cyrus’ Revenge Against Carly, FBI Recording Revenge For His Mother’s Abduction?

General Hospital spoilers tease that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) thought she was doing the right thing when she took over the Corinthos Organization a few years back. As viewers recall, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) was missing and believed to be dead for several months.

In reality, he had amnesia and was living a quiet life in Nixon Falls under the name “Mike”. But Sonny was a powerful mob leader and a member of the five families and Carly felt she had to take his place for the safety of not only herself, but her family as well.

General Hospital Spoilers – Carly Spencer Attended A Top Secret Meeting Of The 5 Families!

In order to solidify her standing with the other mob bosses, Carly had no choice but to attend a meeting with the other leaders of the 5 families. Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) was supposed to attend but he had been shot and couldn’t make it.

During the meeting, also attended by Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) and Selina Wu (Lydia Look), Carly declared she was in charge of Sonny’s Organization in the wake of his death. But unknown to anyone, someone recorded the meeting and turned it over the FBI.

It was this recording that gave FBI Agent John Cates (Adam Harrington) leverage over Jason. That’s the whole reason Jason agreed to be an informant for the FBI in the first place.

GH Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Was Devastated When Carly Spencer Had His Mother Taken!

The only people in attendance at that meeting were the leaders of the 6 families, and Cyrus. Cyrus wanted to take over Sonny’s territory himself. But if that happened, Carly knew the other families would never let her, or her family, live.

Cyrus himself has already made attempts on Sonny’s life before he disappeared. So when Carly took over, she took bold steps to keep Cyrus in check. She kidnapped Cyrus’ beloved mother, Florence Grey (Annie Abbot).

Cyrus was enraged that Carly would go to such extremes. Carly made sure that Florence was well taken care of, and even put her own mother Bobbie Spencer (the late Jaclyn Zeman) in charge of Florence’s care.

General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Went To Prison!

A few months later, Cyrus was finally arrested and jailed for his crimes. But if he made that recording of Carly, there’s no reason to assume he didn’t give it to the FBI as a means of revenge.

Perhaps they even made some sort of deal where the FBI would make sure Cyrus was released only after serving a short amount of time. That would explain how Cyrus was able to convince a judge to let him free.

If that’s the case, then Cyrus is the reason that Jason had to let everyone believe that he was dead for over two years and how the FBI obtained the evidence against Carly in the first place.
