General Hospital Spoilers: Daytime Drama As WGA Picketers Target ABC Soap Over Use Of “Scabs”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates divulge that the popular daytime drama is the target of the current writer’s strike picketers. There are four soaps currently on the air and the ABC sudser has continued production by allegedly using non-WGA writers, Fi-Core writers (non-union talent/labor are commonly referred to as “scabs”).

Voicing their displeasure at the show, picketers are walking the line at Prospect Studios in Los Angeles, where the soap tapes. According to Soap Opera Network, some WGA members want the show shut down over their alleged use of scabs.

He said “We’re just looking to show all the studios, whether that may be ‘General Hospital’ and all the other [soaps] included, that we are going to be out here for as long as it takes…”

Daytime dramas air five days a week compared to primetime shows which typically air one episode a week. As a result the sheer volume of content needed to stay on the air is enormous and GH has decided to keep fans supplied with new episodes.

CBS’s Michael Minnis is the co-head writer at The Bold and the Beautiful, and it’s been reported that he and producer Mark Pinciotti are on the Fi-Core list.
