With Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) now suddenly widowed and single now that Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) is dead and buried, she might need a brand-new love interest. But may that new love interest can be an old love interest.

General Hospital Spoilers –  Lucky Spencer

Elizabeth’s first love and ex-husband, Lucky (played by Jonathan Jackson, Jacob Young, and Greg Vaughan), has been missing in action since 2015. That’s when he tracked down a presumed-dead Jake, who had been the child hostage of the evil and crazed Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers). Lucky brought Jake back to town and quickly took off again. We heard he still existed back in 2019 when his son, Aiden (Jason David) spent a few weeks in Europe visiting him. Could Mathison be playing Lucky?

Remember, he is also Laura’s (Genie Francis) son with important Port Charles ties. Not only would his return give Elizabeth story, but it would also broaden Laura’s orbit. He could also meet his two new uncles, Cyrus (Jeff Kober) and Martin (Michael E. Knight.)

GH Spoilers –  Drew Cain

Then there’s Drew Cain, previously played by Billy Miller. Thanks to Peter (Wes Ramsey), Drew was presumed dead in a plane crash in 2019, but his body was never found. Drew has plenty of unfinished business in Port Charles, as well as many ties to the canvas.

He is a Quartermaine, Jason’s (Steve Burton) twin brother, Sam’s (Kelly Monaco) ex-husband, Scout’s dad, and yes, another one of Elizabeth’s former lovers. If Drew turned up alive, it would send ripple effects throughout Port Charles.

First, it would be one more person who wants to see Peter dead, which is always fun since no member of PC society nor any member of the audience actually likes Peter. Second, Sam might find herself torn between two men and it wouldn’t be Drew and Jason this time. Since she is growing closer to Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) by the day, Drew’s presence can throw a wrench in that romance.

When Drew called himself Jake Doe when he first arrived on the General Hospital scene, he almost married Elizabeth until he learned she was keeping his identity from him. (It turned out his identity was not Jason Quartermaine, but rather his twin who had plastic surgery, Drew Cain.) There could be unfished business between them and General Hospital spoilers reveal a despondent Elizabeth who will need some help picking up the pieces of her life.

Mathison could seamlessly fit into any of these roles, but perhaps he will even play a newly-created character. Stay tuned to find out.
