General Hospital Spoilers: Drew Realizes Carly Was Lying — And Still Sets The Stage To Protect Her

General Hospital spoilers reveal Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is about to stumble upon a truth bomb he wasn’t expecting. He knew the search for Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) birth parents could lead him virtually anywhere. He never expected it would lead him straight back to Port Charles. When Drew realizes that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) really is Willow’s birth mother, he will know instantly that Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) lied to him.

As much as Drew wants to believe it was a mistake, a lab error, or Carly must have had a good reason for what she did, he’s going to confront her and find that is her typical defensive self and has no good explanation at all apart from her own personal feelings. Despite Carly’s shortcomings, Drew is going to look out for her and the family’s best interests. It seems like every man lets Carly off the hook.

We aren’t sure yet how Drew is going to come to the truth about Carly, but we know he’s not far off from it right now. Carly is busy burying every lead and trying to make sure Drew’s efforts lead him in an exhausting circle right back to square one each time. Meanwhile, he thinks she’s on board to help and support him as she thwarts his every attempt at success. Even though Drew might have Carly’s back and doesn’t want to expose her to her entire family or Nina, this is still very likely to spell the end of his relationship with Carly. He’s just not going to be able to look at her the same way or trust her again.

GH Spoilers – Tease Drew Loves Carly Spencer A Bit Too Much

Let’s be honest; Drew loves everyone a bit too much. He’s not just a guy who roots for the underdog. He’s a man that believes in one too many chances being given. He’s full of hope and rarely loses it. It doesn’t hurt that he really wanted the future he saw with Carly to come to fruition. He’s going to be devastated by the revelation that she has been betraying his trust the entire time, since well before they even became a couple. The friendship he thought served as the foundation for their relationship was every bit as much of a fraud as Carly herself. Still, Drew won’t see any point in tearing Michael Corinthos’ (Chad Duell) relationship with his mother to bits, nor does he want to see World War III ensue between Nina and Carly, where Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) could easily get caught up in the mix. So, he just might pretend he discovered the connection to Nina himself, leaving Carly out of it entirely. No one would ever have to know.

The truth is still going to come out though, and when Drew puts himself over a barrel to help Carly out, he’s going to be incriminating himself at the same time. Although he views the situation as being no harm, no foul, because Willow is still going to know who her birth parents are, everyone else won’t look at it that way when they find out what Carly did and that Drew covered it up.
