General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) will commit a vengeful act this week on the ABC soap.

Having given what he called a “sleeping pill” to Ava Jerome (Maura West) to keep Jack Brennan (Chris L. McKenna) “busy”, it didn’t-it kept him dead!

Drew Didn’t Give Ava A “Sleeping Pill”

Drew didn’t give Ava a “sleeping pill” to crush and put in Brennan’s bourbon-he gave her lithium, the medication that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) takes for his bipolar disorder!

Ava should have recognized it-Morgan Corinthos, (Bryan Craig) whose death she helped contribute to, took it too and she tampered with his medication.

But then, on the other hand, Ava was in a hurry to spike Brennan’s drink and really wasn’t paying that much attention to what the pill was-she just crushed it and stirred it as he went to answer a call.

Drew knew exactly what he was going to do to solve the problem of Sonny, which is what Ava teamed up with him to do, he had a meticulous plan.

First he’d get Ava to drug Brennan with the lithium, which he knew would kill him when mixed with alcohol, and then he’d frame Sonny!

Those were exactly Brennan’s symptoms as he entered that elevator, and pressed all the buttons-he didn’t even know which floor his room was on, at that point!

He was suffering the effects of deadly dehydration, which is how the mixture of lithium and alcohol kills-hence the overheating and profuse sweating.

It’s possible, with Brennan not being able to think coherently, that he went to the pool to try to cool off-and slipped into unconsciousness, and actually drowned. Although the drugging was intentional, it’s possible the manner of death was accidental.

Drew Accuses Sonny Of Killing Brennan By Drugging Him With Lithium And Alcohol

Ava frantically told Drew that if she went down, she was taking him with her-but that was before the news of Brennan’s death began to spread.

She thought Brennan was on her way back up to his suite, where Drew was still looking for the evidence he had against him. But he didn’t even tell Ava what his whole plot was to get rid of Sonny-although she herself was a key part of it!

As for a motive, Sonny has been a criminal for years, and of course he’d have a motive to kill a WSB agent, a law and order guy!

Sonny was in the Metro Court when Brennan apparently died, Drew had just met with him and Laura Collins, (Genie Francis) so it’s an easy frameup!
