General Hospital Spoilers: Eden McCoy Reveals The Real William Lipton Behind The Camera

Cameron Webber is one of the many fan favorites on “General Hospital” and for good reason. But just like some regular teenagers, he can also be tough to handle. Even though Cameron may look cocky on the outside, he actually cares for other people.

But his portrayer, William Lipton is the exact opposite. Take the word of Eden McCoy, who plays Josslyn Jacks on the show.

In an exclusive interview with Soaps In Depth, McCoy said, “Cameron’s got that cocky exterior, but inside, he’s a sweet kid who wants the best for everyone.”

“William totally does too, but he’s so not cocky. He’s the complete opposite of Cameron when the cameras stop rolling. He’s like a freaking Disney character! It’s ridiculous how happy he is all the time. He’s so grateful to be at GH and is such a light,” she shared.

McCoy also described her co-star as “super talented” and as someone who is “serious about acting.”

GH News – Cameron Webber: Then and Now

Cameron was first introduced back in May 2004. The character was first portrayed by Ashwyn Bagga. He was then SORASed and that time, the role was played by Braeden Walkes from 2006 to 2013. Michael Leone took over the role but was replaced by Anthony Saliba for a few episodes back in 2013. Cameron was aged once again and recast. Cade McWatt played the role for a few episodes before William Lipton took over.

Zander Smith (Chad Brannon) was Cameron’s father but it was Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) who became his father figure. Cameron accidentally burned their house down while playing with matches. Fortunately, he managed to get out of the house along with his little brother Jake (Hudson West).

Cameron’s first love interest was Emma Scorpion-Drake (Brooklyn Rae Silzer). But they eventually broke up as his cousin, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) came between them. He started to date Josslyn but they went separate ways. Cameron wanted to get back with her, but she already moved on with Oscar Nero Quartermaine’s (Garren Stitt).

Cameron had a hard time accepting Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) in his life. But he eventually let him in by the time the latter married his mother. Viewers may also recall that Franco made a huge sacrifice when Cameron was abducted by Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). The latter planned to implant Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) stolen memories into Cameron but Franco just came in time to rescue him. He took Cam’s place in the experiment and got Drew’s memories.
