General Hospital Spoilers: Elizabeth Isn’t Falling For Esme’s Act, But Nikolas Might Be

General Hospital spoilers reveals Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is starting to forget what life on the outside is even like. She’s been trapped in the north tower of Wyndemere for more than a month now, and it’s really starting to drive her mad. She’s Esme, so she was never in a very good or stable mood to begin with unless she was pretending. But now that she’s starting to feel her baby moving pretty regularly and has a noticeable bump reminding her all day long that she’s about to be a mother, she can’t help but think about what that must be like.

Every pregnant woman wonders about what life is going to look like when the baby arrives and how their life will change to accommodate this new person, but Esme doesn’t get to plan for that, because she won’t be with her child. As she starts to show signs of heartache over this, will Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) reassess their plan?

General Hospital Spoilers — Esme Lays it on Thick: “I Love My Baby”

Esme is going to take a stab at appealing to Elizabeth first, but this time around will be different. It’s not going to be quite as crystal clear that Esme is pretending or trying to play Elizabeth. She may actually be genuinely speaking from her heart when she tells Elizabeth that she loves her child and just wants him or her to have a good life. She might even mean it when she says she’s not sure Nikolas will give the baby such a life, citing that money isn’t everything and he hasn’t been the best father to Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).

GH Spoilers Hint Elizabeth Doesn’t Believe Her

Regardless of whether Esme is playing Elizabeth for a fool or not, Liz isn’t going to believe her. She’s used to Esme’s tricks and this will come across as nothing new to her. Elizabeth is there to do a job and she makes sure to give herself a pep talk every time she’s headed to the launch to Spoon Island as a reminder not to get emotionally entangled in this mess Nikolas has gotten himself — and her — into.

General Hospital Spoilers — Nikolas Has Second Thoughts

Speaking of Nikolas, while Elizabeth might think Esme is nothing more than a pathological liar, Nikolas might start to have other ideas about her. Nikolas does love his wife, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), but the more than he gets wrapped up into this scheme with hiding Esme and his baby, the less we see any potential for him getting back together with the Mrs. Instead, a future may be lying in wait with Nikolas and Esme as he attempts to rationalize a way to keep her safe from persecution so that his child has both its mother and father in their life — something Spencer never had. When Nikolas thinks he sees a softer side to Esme, he just might think the future doesn’t look so grim after all, but he can’t tell Elizabeth.
