General Hospital Spoilers: Erica Kane Headed To Port Charles — And What Would That Mean For Deception?

General Hospital spoilers reveal a rumor is circulating that the one and only Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) may be visiting Port Charles sometime soon. Hold onto your hats because her “visit” could be a longer stay that completely changes the landscape of the soap as we know it.

Bringing in some old blood from Pine Valley and All My Children would reinvigorate the portion of the GH base that so desperately wants to cling to that era of the past.

Ahem, like yours truly. Bringing Erica to Port Chuck could signal serious competition from some of its most successful business entrepreneurs. It could also bring salacious romance, and even more salacious gossip or scandals our way. Who might Erica’s presence impact the most?

GH saw a good boost in ratings when they brought Erika Slezak back into the fold as Veronica ‘Ronnie’ Bard, the late Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleston) long lost sister.

While the story arc was short lived, it was much appreciated by the fans.  Still, many of us had hoped Slezak’s return would not be as a new character but as One Life to Live’s Viki Lord.

With the GH empire now holding the rights to all of the characters from OLTL and AMC, they’ve been surprisingly uninterested in pulling some of those casts into the topography of GH in more recent years. Is that about to change?

Deception Won’t Be Deceived

Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton), and Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) won’t be too comfortable hearing that the famed cosmetics giant Erica Kane is headed their way.

Her name comes up from time to time in conversation, and every time, longtime AMC fans brim with delight. The competition between these two beauty brands has been painted as being pretty fierce in recent years.

With Maxie on hiatus in a coma, Brook Lynn and Lucy would have to hold down the fort in the face of that kind of threat. Can they do it?

Turning a Corner

Maxie is rumored to be waking up next week during February Sweep. So the possibilities are endless. We know she will likely be interested in jumping right back into Maxie mode and handling any negotiations or threats herself, but her physical condition may not allow for it.

Fans are interested to see Erica’s condition just as much. Lucci is nearly 80 and still interested in a parlay into Port Charles as long as it would be meaningful work and not a mere cameo. Sounds good to me! Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead.
