General Hospital spoilers suggest that Evan Hofer (Dex Heller) may be making his exit from the ABC soap. Spoilers have shown Dex at the hospital with who seems to be Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) by his side. What has happened to Dex and will he survive?
General Hospital Spoilers – Dex Heller Became A Cop To Protect Himself
General Hospital spoilers reveal that Dex became a cop to protect himself from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
Obviously, Sonny hasn’t bothered him until this point so Sonny is likely not the reason Dex ends up at the hospital. It does seem like things are getting very tense in Port Charles with the mob right now and that isn’t good.
Dex could certainly stumble upon something that might get him shot or even killed. Unfortunately, there seems to be someone at the hospital who has no problem taking someone out either.
Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) autopsy will prove that. Who is this killer and why are they doing this? Who is knocking people off to get someone out of their way?
GH Spoilers: Changes Have Been Happening
The show seems to be switching characters around a lot lately. Currently, several Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) is back, Alexa Havins has joined as Lulu Spencer, Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) has arrived and left, and Sam was recently killed off. The actors were recently asked to take a pay cut and some actors were still removed.
Hofer could have have been one of the actors who exited because of these changes. Dex backed himself into a corner somewhat when he turned on Sonny.
However, Dex also could have been targeted because of his job as a cop, especially with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) in town. If Dex learns something he shouldn’t, Sidwell would not hesitate to get rid of him.
General Hospital Spoilers – Who Is Dex Heller?
Hofer joined the cast in 2022 as Dex Heller. Heller was supposed to be ex-military and he originally joined Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) to try to put his father away.
Michael decided his sisters would be better off without Sonny in their lives. However, Michael eventually changed his mine and change the scope of Dex’s job as well.
Dex then decided to protect himself by giving Anna evidence and then joining the force. It is certainly no secret that Dex knows a lot about Sonny’s business. Dex has also been dating Sonny’s ex-stepdaughter as well.
Could someone try to use Dex to get to Sonny and Dex pay the ultimate price for not giving them the information they want? Well Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) get caught in the crossfire?

Soooo many changes. Characters returning from years past is too boring. The Willow, Drew story is disgusting but Willow needs to lose it all as she is too high and mighty. Marrying a quartermaine made her think she’s better than everyone else and her treatment of her mother was horrible. Too perfect back then but her not so perfect self is coming out. Everyone has faults but she was firgiving to everyone but her mother. Can’t wait for Carly to turn on her.
Well she never been a bad person. But beening in a cult I wouldn’t doubt she can handle her self…. As for the rest it all crazy!!!! U don’t mess with three family’s on this show everyone knows that … I’m a long time veiwer
I think Dex is a character that could go. His character as a cop is redundant. How many cops do we need ? This is supposedly General Hospital. How about some more doctors and an extra nurse or two? Elizabeth is becoming the new Bobbie… same nurse for every occasion. Cause that’s how nursing works ….
So stupid. This writing is unfortunately NOT in tune with what any of these characters would do. I would write a Dallas type scenario. If they want to have me write it free, I can. It means many reversals but no one axed.

There are so many others I’d get rid of. TJ, Molly, Natalia, Drew, Ric, Gio, Kai, Lois, Portia, Isaiah….But they need to start writing for the cast members they just forget are even there for weeks or months at a time. Some of the most talented actors, who could have intriguing storylines, are being wasted. Where’s Cyrus? And Martin and Kevin? 3 of the most talented actors in the cast, but we have to suffer through the disgusting Drew, and boring Michael, and Molly’s whining, instead. There’s a lot of things they could do to get the show back on track, but getting rid of Dex isn’t one of them! And neither was getting rid of Sam! At least the intolerable Holly is gone – for now.
I hope this is a rumor. Evan is a great young actor and should be part of the future of GH. So many horrible changes frank and the writers have and are making. If Dex (Evan) goes, then I think I’ll throw my 60 year watching badge away and go too
LOKISMOM, I agree 100% with you!! Sadly I think GH is folding SOON, running out of MONEY, asking Actors to take a pay cut?? If they want pay cuts why are they adding more Actors, Keep the old ones many of storylines can be made with them!! I’ve been a GH watcher since I was 15, and now I’m 76 I will Miss GH these New Writers sorry but you don’t know how to right a Soap Opera!! This is the main reason FANS ARE LOSING INTEREST, so I’ll be saying Good Bye and I wish the Actors All the Best!!
If Dex goes I go as a Gh viewer. What will they do with Joss if that happens. She and Dex lately have only been on like once or twice a month. They were supposed to be the young love story of the show.
I hate the idea all of the circling around on the stories because of you wanting to cut salaries. Those that agreed possibly kept their jobs, went off contract or given their release dates. Now you are loading up with upstart young people because you have freed up all the money.
I really liked Dex when he worked for Sonny. The writers really did his relationship with everyone well. He had character and personality especially with Sonny. I know Sonny really liked him too. They were almost like family. The worst mistake was making him a police officer. Giving him fear of Sonny. I think if he had ever sat down with Sonny and talked through how things really happened. Sonny would have eased his mind and he would have stopped looking over his shoulder. I hope you break out like Spencer did and hit it big Dex! You have got the right stuff.
This soap is getting worst and worst why in the hell would they kill off Dex? One of the sexiest men on the soap not to mention the love interest of the sexiest young lady on set Josslyn! It makes no sense!Killing off Sam for ratings was a failure! Now you just firing people at random? How about getting rid of Characters that have no history with Port Charles! For example love Eva Larue but why is she still in town? Her daughter is gone she should be too! THE NEW FOOTBALL HERO LOVE INTEREST FOR TRINA CAN GO! GIO IS THE MAN FOR TRINA! LULU IS A PARIAH BEFORE SHE EVEN WAKES UP.SHE WILL BE HATED CAUSE SAM DIED TO SAVE HER.THIS SOAP IS AWFUL NO LOVE NO HAPPINESS JUST TRAGEDY! SAD!
It would be such a pity and disappointment if their were no more scenes of Dex with only a towel wrapped around him. He was just becoming interesting now that he is a cop.
They got rid of one of the most complex and talented actors when they let Roger go. What were they thinking? Obviously, the writers are not talented because the couldn’t come up with a storylline that befitted his talent as Franco. So they made him a dull doctor Austin-character that we still to this day have not found out how and by whom he was killed. They just dropped it like it never happened. I FF through all of Trina’s scenes. I don’t find her as engaging as the original, but I do like her scenes with Ava. Maura West is an unbelievable talent. I can watch her all day, especially her scenes with Roger. Two pros. Loved him as Todd Manning.
This soap has seriously went down hill alot stop getting rid of people like Kelly Monaco that has been there for years just to bring in people from the past soap all my children should have kept Kelly and fired willow drew porshia geo lord so many on this soap that just does nothing but take up space and. if he was leaving the show it wouldn’t make sense that he has fan events in December, January and February with Chase, Anna and Willow. I would think if he was leaving his events would be cancelled. I am supposed to attend his zoom events on December & January. Until we hear from the show or Evan I will continue believing Dex will be fine.
Letting go of Evan Hofer is a huge mistake. What stupid decisions this soap opera is making. I have faithfully watched this show for forty years and the last few months have been unbearable. Can’t stand the character drew and now willow and can’t tolerate the character of holly. Loved Cody and Sasha together. What ridiculous mistakes. The writers and executives producers should be fired from GH!Frank has really screwed up this show! The writers can’t write their way out a paper bag!Killing off Sam was the dumbest death of a major character since they killed off Dr. Alan Quartermaine for ratings! It did not work then. Wait it gets better then hitches a ride with Cody, who has sat at her bedside with Dante ,yet somehow Cody does not recognize her? Really?Ok! Her mother and brother are no where to be found, yet Cyrus is making decisions for LuLu? What?I’ve never seen anything like it!Sam murdered by digitalis? Really? Blaming Elisabeth for it? Really?Now they gonna cut Dex the hottest young male star on the show who is in a relationship with Joss a major character!? Really? I can think of as least 10 cast members that deserved the axe more!
