General Hospital spoilers report Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) was gearing up to present a pretty formidable storyline months back when we realized she was practically stalking Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes).
The fans continue to lament that we’ve barely seen Charlotte since the truth came out and obliterated Anna’s relationship with Charlotte’s father, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart).
General Hospital Spoilers — Therapy Takes Time
Instead of telling Anna the truth about Charlotte’s condition, he protected his daughter, which ended in Anna shooting Charlotte after she broke into her apartment. And that’s it? That’s where the story ends? Anna and Valentin are over and Charlotte seeks therapy?
We’re not going to learn how her grandfather, Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy), played her like a fiddle and messed with her mind Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison)-style?
We’re not going to check in and see whether Charlotte is truly responding to therapy or is just playing along until she gets Anna — or someone else — in her sights again?
GH Spoilers — Charlotte Cassadine’s Case Proves To Be Time Consuming
Sure, it’s going to take some time to unpack what Victor did to his granddaughter, but it appears we don’t get an inside view into any of that.
While Drew’s turnaround time following Victor’s brainwashing was much quicker, Charlotte’s case is proving to be time-consuming. Are we supposed to believe she’ll just re-emerge later — fully healed and with a new lease on life?
Perhaps, but can the fans really accept that or will they fail to trust her ever again and suspect she’s still unstable?
General Hospital Spoilers — Jake Spencer Played A Role
When Jake Spencer (Hudson West) started looking out for Charlotte and taking an interest in her, it appeared that their storyline as friends — or possibly more — might come to fruition.
Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) had concerns about Jake spending time with Charlotte since she was such a bully to Aiden Webber (Enzo de Angelis) when he was younger, but she was trusting Jake to know what he was getting into.
Elizabeth is a bit more of a hands-off parent who knows her sons will only push back the more she tries to hold them close. But here we are now; there is no visible friendship between Jake and Charlotte anymore.
His father’s homecoming has sent him into a bit of his own angry spiral, and where is his friend Charlotte during his time of need?
GH Spoilers — Nina Reeves Stepped Away
Now that Valentin and Anna’s relationship has hit the bricks, they’re not even behaving like people who used to love each other. Anna is suspicious that Valentin is somehow behind Pikeman, and she would be right.
That’s certain to keep her away from Charlotte’s papa, which could leave room for a familiar face to move back in — Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros).
At first, it seemed like Nina was prepared to be on deck to help Charlotte through this difficult time, but suddenly she’s too busy with her lack of a personal life and downsizing to only one career. What about that trip she was going to take with her former stepdaughter?
Alas, Charlotte’s storyline could’ve bought a younger crowd of actors into the spotlight — a tactic many fans say GH needs to bring back. Remember when a young Elizabeth and Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) were the story?
If GH stands to stick around for years to come, fans say the writers need to stop treating the kids like accessories to the adults’ lives and start giving viewers something to chew on with the younger up-and-coming crowd — much the way they did with Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) and Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez).
Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
Leave her gone! Horrid charecter and the current actress is irritating and unlikeable. She hadn’t been missed and serves zero purpose.
