General Hospital Spoilers: GH Alum Adrienne Barbeau Open To Playing The New Maude

Reboots of classic TV shows have become increasingly popular these days. “Maude,” which was a famous show 40 years ago, could very well be the next addition to the list. ABC “General Hospital” vet, Adrienne Barbeau rose to fame for her role as Carol, Maude Findlay’s (Bea Arthur). The actress hinted that she’s definitely open to being part of the reboot, but this time, she won’t be Carol, but the titular heroine of the 70’s sitcom.

“I’d love to be the new Maude. I’m in a new movie ‘For the Love of Jessee’ playing an overbearing mother. And I do voiceovers from the house,” the actress said.

The TV series revolved around women’s rights. With the rising number of women taking center stage not only on film and TV shows but in other sectors as well, it’s only natural for women to be proud to be one. That’s exactly how Barbeau feels right now.

“‘Maude’ was all about women’s rights. Seeing Gal Gadot in ‘Wonder Woman,’ I thought it’s an incredible moment to be a woman. Maybe I was an early one fighting the battles. But this is a good time,” the actress said.

GH Spoilers – If She Can’t Get The Part, She’s Got An Alternative

Although Barbeau would really like to part, she also knows that she might not get to play the character. If that happens, she’s got someone else in mind, whom she thinks is perfect for the role.

“If not me as Maude, then Tracey Ullman comes to mind. I’m impressed with her work. Bea Arthur’s tough to follow, but Tracey could do it.”

ABC General Hospital Spoilers

“General Hospital” spoilers for Thursday, April 30 tease that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Dev Cerci aka “Dev Corbin” will receive some news from Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Viewers know that Sonny is hell-bent in taking Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). So, what he may ask Dev and Joss to remain on lockdown up until he settles things with Cyrus. He’ll probably give them some updates about the current status. Who knows, Sonny wants to decide to ease up on some of his imposed restrictions so the two could have some sense of normalcy once again.

Elsewhere, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) will tell Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) to “go for it.” Viewers have to stay tuned to find out what it’s all about.
