General Hospital Spoilers reveal that Leslie Charleson, who has played Monica Quartermine since 1977, however, as she struggles to recover, chances are she won’t be back. Charleson, who hasn’t been on the show since last December won’t be back.
General Hospital Spoilers – Leslie Charleston Has Been Ill For Months
Leslie has been ill for several months now and would love to come back to the show. However, it is taking a bit longer than she would have liked.
Leslie has been dealing with some medical issues but she is getting out and doing things these days. Leslie is 79 years old and has played Monica for decades. She was recently seen having a glass of wine and lunch in L.A.
Monica has lost all of her children at one time only to get a couple of them back. Now, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and his twin brother, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) are both living in Port Charles right now with their children. Monica also has Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) living in the guest house as well.
GH Spoilers – An Insider Spoke To Closer
An insider spoke exclusively to Closer saying, “She’s doing OK under the circumstances and in no rush to push herself. “She’s suffered several falls in recent years, and she’s doing her best to recover. That said, it’s harder for her to get around at her age.” Her first fall was a few years ago when she was forced to take off for her injury to heal.
Leslie was using a walker and had someone helping her on her most recent outing. Leslie needs a caregiver to help her get around these days.
The source continues, “She’s seeing friends and staying social. Although she’d be welcome back to the show with open arms, it’s unlikely she’ll ever return.” Of course, fans remember that Monica’s mother in law on the show was in a wheelchair.
GH Spoilers – General Hospital Isn’t Short On Quartermaines
General Hospital does have a houseful of Quartermaines but the absence of Monica is still felt, especially with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) in the house.
Older fans, of course, miss Monica and Tracy’s banter back and forth over the house and how many people are there. There was always the line that Monica would say every time Tracy tried to take over.
It is a shame that Leslie cannot be there to keep Tracy in check. However, some of us still remember, “its my house, Alan (Quartermaine) gave it to me.”
After decades of hearing that every time Tracy was home, it is certainly missed now that Monica isn’t there. However, the rest of the family have been known to remind Tracy every now and again.
We wish Leslie the best and would love to see Monica if she is feeling up to coming back anytime. In the meantime, keep up the good work and take care!!

Leslie, I hope you start to feel like your old FEISTY self and maybe next year can make a cameo back on GH. You are sorely missed and needed. Your MIL was in a wheelchair, no reason you cannot be using a that or a walker upon your return for your safety.
Miss you… Who will inherit the house if you are gone??? Hopefully not your ex-lover/nephew Ned/Eddie Maine.
its HORRIBLE you fired Kelly Monaco What were you thinking ? Terrible story line Sam dies to save someone
that’s in a coma. We don’t like Lulu part anyway..
