General Hospital Spoilers: Has The Cassadine Dynasty Fallen – Nikolas To Give All Up For His Son?

ABC General Hospital spoilers and updates suggest that there could be nothing truly left of the sometimes royal Cassadine legacy in Port Charles. Many GH fans believe it has simply faded until there is nothing left of this once-proud family. Although Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) has indeed found his fortune, many believe that he remains the Prince of Nothing.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nikolas Sacrifices Everything for Nothing

Many GH fans have watched as Nikolas Cassadine sacrificed practically everything near and dear to him in order to regain his family fortune. Most people in Port Charles such as local Mafioso Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst), and even his own wife, Ava Cassadine (Maura West) lost all respect for the man. Disgustingly, Nikolas even allowed his own son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) to believe that he’d kicked the bucket for more than three years before revealing that, surprise! He was still alive.

Yet, what exactly did Nikolas sacrifice everything for? Spoon Island? The Wyndemere estate? In truth, to many GH viewers, all Nikolas really has anymore is a big castle full of shadows and drafty halls. Ava can’t stand to be around him and indeed, all she wants is to divorce him and take his money. (Some think her attitude would change and there could actually be an attraction between the two if Nikolas would just be nice to her, but whatever.)

Even the legacy left to Nikolas by his forebears isn’t so glowingly amazing. Weren’t they all terrible, mentally unstable people?

General Hospital Spoilers – Valentin Isn’t a Cassadine

Then there is the man who would be Cassadine. Valentin is a man who actually has the strength of character (good or bad) to hold power. With all the assets of the Cassadine name and fortune behind him, there is little that Valentin couldn’t have achieved. Unlike Nikolas who is something of a brooding wimp, Valentin crushes his enemies.

That is until Valentin discovered that he wasn’t really a Cassadine. Then Valentin’s world fell apart. Still not the mess that Nikolas is, the fact that Valentin was proven not to be a true Cassadine further decimated the Cassadine family ranks. Their legacy of evil isn’t even filtering down to Valentin anymore. Consider the fact that Valentin has recently made many selfless moves and is on the path to becoming a better man.

Moreover, Valentin appears to make power moves as his own man in Port Charles without the Cassadine name or fortune used as assets.

General Hospital Spoilers – Nobody Else Claims the Cassadine Name

GH fans may realize, of course, that Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Lexi Ainsworth), Molly Lansing-Davis (Haley Pullos), as well as Sam’s kids and Nikolas’s son Spencer all have direct ties to the Cassadine name. However, no one except Spencer really acknowledges that, do they?

GH fans might also recall that Spencer wants nothing to do with his father and has told him to “stay the hell away.” Spencer might be in line for the Cassadine fortune, but at this point, he doesn’t seem to need or want it.

It appears the long-time feud between the Cassadine family and the Spencers has all but fizzled out along with whatever respect the Cassadine name might once have held.
