General Hospital Spoilers: Head Writers Return To Save Show, Ditch Sad Stories

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that the header writers are returning. Fans are hoping they will save the show from the current state it’s in.

They’re calling on the writers to ditch the sad storylines and bring back the lightness and humor. Keep on reading to learn more.

General Hospital Spoilers  – Head Writers Return

The General Hospital spoilers reveal that the show’s co-head writers, Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor, will return. Now that the writers’ strike is finally over, the soaps can go back to using their team of writers.

Throughout much of the year, the storylines were picked up by scab writers. GH fans complained that the scabs made the show seem more depressing than usual.

GH Spoilers: Head Writers Return To Save Show, Ditch Sad Stories

The user Oakie posted on the SoapCentral.com Message Boards: “I hope Chris and Dan ditch all these bummer stories. I do not want to see this surrogacy story with Kristina play out. We are talking about two years of this awful mess. I hate the thought of this story climaxing with Kristina kidnapping the baby.”

The original poster suggested other storylines the head writers should ditch. They’re also not interested in Dr. Hamilton Finn’s (Michael Easton) malpractice lawsuit.

Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) declining health, Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) amnesia, or Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) moping around Port Charles.

The user did note that Esme’s amnesia is concluding. This could be a clue that the head writers are transitioning away from the sad storylines.

Fans took to the thread to share their thoughts. Most of them revealed what they would like to see in 2024.

GH Spoilers – No More Soapy Nightmare

According to the General Hospital spoilers, there should be more soapy nightmares now that the head writers are back. Most fans are annoyed by all the focus on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).

They would like to see her leave Port Charles permanently. But, that won’t happen since she has a huge fanbase.

One fan argued: “These are Chris and Dan’s stories, the temporary writers were left 5 months’ worth of outlines that the temporary writers were to follow, their job was to fill in the dialog and maintain the direction of the show…” Another responded: “Yes, and I think they’ve done a good job. We were all complaining about certain aspects of the show before the temporary writers stepped in.”

GH fans are mixed on the current storyline. Most are happy to have the head writers back, while others enjoyed the storylines for the past few months.

Some argued that General Hospital should step up its game after all their Daytime Emmy wins. Some would love to see less storylines involving the mob and the SEC.

What are your thoughts on the head writers returning? Do you they’ll finally ditch the sad storylines? What are you looking forward to seeing? Sound off below in the comment section.

You are correct everyone cannot be pleased, but there needs to be a little more levity in GH as most story lines continue to be dark – doom/gloom type presentations. GH has no fun anymore, no more edge of your seat type stories which make you want to tune in the next day to see what will occur, as in most cases viewers can suspect what the outcome will bring. Don’t know how long you have been viewing, but most characters have lost their beloved personas and turned into unidentifiable just there lack of interest type people. The cast is way to big for viewers to become vested in anyone anymore as no character/story line is viewed enough to get a true feel for the story line. I have been viewing for many, many, years and I tend to feel something very integral to GH is missing. The never ending story lines are quite boring, and when they do come to a conclusion, (if they ever do), it does not bring the results wanted by many viewers. GH has good actors, but the scripts given don’t allow them to do their best work. I continue to watch hoping one day things will change and bring GH back to it’s glory days.

Ok writers are back. Lets ditch the surrogate story between the 2 sisters. This will take years to play out. Let them adopt. The Finn story another drag along with Cyrus and Nina. Wrap it up. Not much interest here, Esme over done along with Ava and Nicholas. Too boring, lets get some real action.
