General Hospital Spoilers: Here’s How Esme Prince Gets Off Scot Free For All She’s Done

General Hospital spoilers hint Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) may look like she’s up to her old tricks, but she really is being genuine for once. She truly doesn’t remember her past or the person she used to be, and she doesn’t want anything to do with the scary people rallying around her now.

Heather Webber (Alley Mills) and Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) have co-opted her at this point and left her wishing she could break free from them, but it’s hard to run away from two psychopaths when you’re eight months pregnant. When the police do catch up with these three, the only one not going back to maximum security long-term will be Esme.

General Hospital Spoilers — Memory Loss Is Just The Beginning

Esme really doesn’t remember her life before she was hospitalized. Maybe it’s trauma-induced from the fall, or perhaps she has had a mental break and just can’t let herself remember all of the terrible things she did. Either way, it’s authentic, and she doesn’t want to remember, subconsciously. What helps her to recall everything might be the return of her nanny. Seeing her face again could bring back a flood of emotions that her father’s face didn’t fully trigger because they never truly connected in a real way, but only over shared animosity. Her nanny could be the key to setting her free — from her memories and her crimes.

Her fear of Ryan and Heather is also quite real. Esme didn’t want to come along for this jail break journey. She would have rather stayed behind bars. However, she was also afraid of what they might do to her if she refused. Furthermore, she really doesn’t want to lose her child to someone else — or the state. She knows if she goes on the run with them, that’s the only shot she has at raising her baby herself.

General Hospital Spoilers — Temporary Insanity Rears Its Head

Esme’s going to need a good lawyer on her side to help her win this case, but she also has the advantage of being able to rewrite a bit of history by claiming the person she is now is the person she’s always been. Her nanny, Maggie Fitzgerald (Health Olt), may be able to corroborate that now that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) have tracked her down. Esme’s attorney could argue that Ryan coerced her into committing these horrific acts on his behalf and may bolster the argument by claiming temporary insanity.
