A lot of daytime television fans can’t help but wonder what’s next for their favorite soaps, seeing how some of them might run out of new episodes soon. While Days of Our Lives airs six months in advance and has enough new material to last them until October, the same can’t be said about The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless and General Hospital. Here’s what you need to know.
Here’s How The Soaps Are Making Adjustments During The Coronavirus (Covid-19) Shutdown
Speaking about the matter on Twitter, actress Nancy Lee Grahn, who is best known for her role as Alexis Davis on General Hospital, says that the show’s producers don’t have a timeline as to when they will be back up and running again. Until then, fans will be treated to ‘flashback episodes’ from the past. But then again, there is perhaps no one in the country who really knows what will happen when each state decides to life its stay-at-home orders. Nancy told her Twitter followers, “We don’t know how long this is going to go on and it’s certainly going on longer than we would probably expect.”
And while Nancy’s co-star William DeVry (Julian Jerome) hinted that General Hospital had enough new episodes to last them until at least the beginning of May, Nancy believes that they might have more than that. She said, “I think we are good until like May 21 or something.”
General Hospital’s William DeVry and Nancy Lee Grahn Weigh In
While it looks like some states have already hit their apex, no one knows what will really happen when life goes back to ‘normal,’ or at least when businesses open up and people can go back to work.
Either way, it’s without a doubt that many businesses, networks, and studios will take the proper precautions to make sure that the cast and crew remain safe and healthy at all times. While anything can certainly happen in front of the cameras, everyone wants to make sure that things remain as clean and sterilized behind the scenes. Of course, we will definitely update you with more information as it comes in.
In the meantime, don’t forget to come back right here for all the latest news, updates and spoilers on General Hospital, The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless and Days of Our Lives.
Miss soaps so much each day they are interrupted by corn virus news which I know is important but networks hv sister station’s which could assure us our soaps if not they could change times and delete other programs network’s make millions off airing soaps we are the bread and butter and are treated. Terrible by networks
Along with Friday flashbacks, I would love to see some General Hospital bloopers. I have seen the one with Ava and the spaghetti and Steve Burton trying to do a scene with the two little boys. Would love to see some new ones…actors forgetting their lines, mishaps, laughing during a take, etc.
Soap are missed by so many fans, it would nice if they returned quickly, but for now we all need to stay safe, and hope that this pandemic is over very soon.
