General Hospital Spoilers: Lucas Jones And Brad Cooper Learn They Have Been Approved For Adoption

The promo begins with a flashback scene to when Brad and Lucas had just found out that they had been approved for adoption and were going to become parents. Brad, happy, tells Lucas “It’s happening – we’re going to become parents!”

Lucas laughs and says “I know, I’m going to be a father!” They bring the baby home when they are notified he has been born. Then, something goes wrong – terribly wrong! Brad, with Lucas at work, bends over the crib to check on their new baby who they have named Wiley Cooper-Jones (uncredited baby actor). Brad is horrified as the baby doesn’t respond – he cries out, “Are you okay? Please be okay, little guy!” He drops the baby bottle he’s holding and starts to cry when he realized the baby is dead of SIDS, or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome!

General Hospital Spoilers: The Baby Switch Takes Place In September 2018

Michael and pregnant Nelle Benson, now Nelle Benson Archer (Chloe Lanier) have had a car crash, which she had engineered to kill Michael with an explosion after the crash, but Michael and Detective Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) had become aware of and double-crossed her—the car crashed but it wouldn’t explode. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has come to Michael’s aid, who is now alone in the car while Chase hunts down Nelle. Michael tells Sonny to find Nelle and make sure the baby is ok!

General Hospital Spoilers: Jonah Corinthos Is Born In The Woods

A pregnant Nelle, walking into the woods goes into labor and encounters a fugitive Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) in her prison guard, freshly escaped after being convicted of the kidnapping and torture of Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Nelle is sitting on the ground as she tells Liesl, “I am going to have this baby right here and right now!” Liesl delivers Jonah. Meanwhile, Brad is driving aimlessly down the country road where Nelle walks, carrying newborn baby Jonah Corinthos after Liesl leaves. She spots his car and shouts “HELP”!

Brad pulls to a stop. Brad tells her about the tragic death of the baby he and Lucas adopted, who is in a basket in the back seat. Nelle offers a solution – she tells Brad, “I can give you my baby and everyone will be happy. I’m giving him to you and Lucas.”. Brad takes Jonah and Nelle takes Wiley and now Wiley becomes Jonah and Jonah becomes Wiley as far as everyone else is concerned.

General Hospital Spoilers: Michael Corinthos Finds Out His Baby Is Dead While Lucas And Brad Celebrate Their New Baby

Michael is at General Hospital, along with Sonny, where the police have brought Nelle and the dead baby, who is actually Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) baby. Michael approaches, and says, “Nelle-you had the baby?” Nelle hands him the dead baby, looks him square in the eye, and lies, “Our son didn’t make it!” Michael collapses, crying, into Sonny’s arms.

Meanwhile, Brad and Lucas are showing off their new baby – who only Brad knows the truth about – to the Jerome side of the family while Julian Jerome (William DeVry) takes pictures and Ava Jerome (Maura West) smiles excitedly over the new addition. Michael is in shock and sorrow as he says, “The first time I saw my child, and he was already dead!” Nelle, in prison garb as Brad holds the newborn outside the courtroom door, tells Michael and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) in the courtroom that they will always be connected – more than they know!

Flash Forward Several Months Ahead

Flash forward several months ahead, Willow and Michael have gotten acquainted through a grief group at the hospital. They become close friends and she confesses she is not in the group because she lost a child but that she put one up for adoption. She tells him the baby is still there in Port Charles. Julian, concerned, tells Brad at Charlie’s Pub that Willow thinks she’s Wiley’s birth mother as a scene flashes of Willow holding Wiley up to her cheek.

At the Corinthos home, a scene flashes of Carly playing with Wiley when Lucas and Brad have brought him over, and Carly tells Michael it’s crazy how much Wiley looks like Michael when he was a baby as Brad looks nervous! Michael says he hopes Lucas and Brad don’t mind him staying close to the little guy – Michael becomes Wiley’s godfather. Brad starts worrying more and more that the truth will come out somehow and tells Nelle he’s about to lose everything if Sonny realizes that he took Michael’s son away from him!

Flash Forward Several More Months Ahead

Flash forward several more months ahead, and Wiley is fifteen months old now! Brad’s guilt and anxiety over the baby lie has caused problems in his marriage with Lucas! Lucas tries to get Brad to tell him what’s bothering him so bad in a flashback scene before the car crash that put Lucas into a coma for several months, and the two are arguing at the hospital.

Lucas, irritated, says “Talk to me Brad – what’s eating you? You don’t have to go it alone – we’re a team!” Flash forward again to Thanksgiving night – Lucas and Brad are in the car driving to the Corinthos home for family Thanksgiving; they intersect with a crazed Kendra Bauer (Michelle Argyris) who has placed Alexis Davis, (Nancy Lee Grahn) in the road and prepares to run over her! Alexis manages to roll out of the way, as Brad and Lucas are arguing in the car. Brad is crying, and tells Lucas there’s so much he hasn’t told him – Lucas, angry, shouts “What does THAT mean?” Brad shouts, “Wiley’s not the baby we adopted, he’s Michael and Nelle’s son!” They are then hit by Kendra’s car, and forced off the road where Lucas is unconscious from a head injury.

Flash Forward Again Several Months

Flash forward again several months, and Lucas has regained consciousness in Turning Woods’ rehabilitation wing, where he was transferred to from GH where he had been on life support. Julian and Brad talk in a hallway as Julian tells him they’d better get their stories straight now. By now, Julian knows that Wiley is Jonah. Brad tells Julian not to worry because Lucas doesn’t remember anything from the night of the crash – he had previously told Julian that he confessed everything to Lucas before the crash occurred. Julian tells Brad, “He doesn’t remember – I see. A man that doesn’t remember is a ticking time bomb waiting to explode!”

General Hospital Spoilers: This Week Lucas Remembers!

Up to now, all the scenes in the promo have been flashbacks – this is what is ahead this week; Lucas sits with his mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) on the couch in the Corinthos living room as Julian, Brad, Michael, and Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattson) are there probably in a welcome home party for Lucas.

All of a sudden Lucas seems to have taken a trip far away in his mind as Julian asks him if he’s okay. Lucas says he thinks he remembers something from the night of the crash, then, “I REMEMBER!” as Brad looks down in horror – then all of a sudden he stands up bolt upright and shouts, “MICHAEL!”
