General Hospital Spoilers: How Did Frank Benson Acquire Nina Reeves’s Daughter?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) may have given up her newborn granddaughter to the creepily delinquent, Frank Benson (James Patrick Stuart). GH fans know that recently, a little Nelle Benson (Willa Rose) was seen wearing what appeared to be the other half of Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) signature half-locket.

General Hospital Spoilers – Madeline Does Something Terrible

As GH viewers know who has been watching General Hospital for years now know, Nina’s mom was a horrible woman. Not only did Madeline tamper with Nina’s prescription of anti-depressants, in an effort to cause Nina to miscarry after she became pregnant, but the dose was far too high and Nina ended up in a coma for over twenty years!

For a long time, it was believed that the baby Nina had been carrying was miscarried. However, GH fans know that it was later revealed that Madeline had given the baby up to the highest bidder on the black market.

GH Spoilers – Frank’s The Highest Bidder?

Many GH viewers are now wondering a few things. First, if Frank was the highest bidder for the black market adoption of Nina’s baby, how in the world did he afford the transaction? GH fans may recall that Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) ranted and raved about what a loser Frank was. He couldn’t pay child support (or refused to pay it) and was constantly on the wrong side of business deals. Moreover, Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) also complained about the fact that she grew up moving from place to place constantly and that she and her father (Frank) were always poor.

Of course, this begs the question: Where did Frank’s ability to purchase baby Nelle come from

An even bigger question is for whom did Frank acquire baby Nelle? What woman was in Frank’s life? Surely, Frank didn’t adopt Nelle for himself. He didn’t even want to adopt Carly! Therefore, who is Nelle’s mystery adoptive mother?

General Hospital Spoilers – Frank Didn’t Pay A Dime

Now, if Nelle is actually Nina’s daughter, it’s possible that Frank didn’t have to pay anything at all to adopt her. Some GH fans feel that Madeline may have done “whatever it took” to get rid of Nina’s child. Since the baby didn’t actually die in a miscarriage as Madeline originally claimed, she may have wanted to dispose of the child sooner rather than later. Instead of putting baby Nelle up for sale, it’s entirely possible that Madeline actually paid someone to have Nelle taken off of her hands.

Madeline could have found a corrupt adoption attorney or a crooked adoption facilitator whom she paid to take care of the problem for her. Whomever the agent Madeline paid happened to be, that person would likely be familiar with falsifying birth records, etc. and might have no problem finding a desperate person who couldn’t afford to go through legal channels to adopt.

The bottom line is that Frank Benson sadly got his hands (apparently) on Nina Reeves’s daughter and raised her to become to sociopath she is today.
