General Hospital spoilers and updates reveals Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) had one thing in mind when he penned a confession to Esme Prince’s (Avery Kristen Pohl) murder: keeping his wife, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West), out of jail. Alright, perhaps he was also hoping the gesture would appeal to Ava and get him back in her good graces as well. What proves love more than being willing to go to prison for his wife, right? Since Nikolas made it known just how far he’s willing to go for his wife, his uncle — Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaugnessy) — found out, too. What might he do with that kind of ammunition against Nik?

General Hospital Spoilers – Indicates Esme Price Will Play A Pivotal Role

Now that Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) is back in Port Charles, she just might take up residence at Wyndemere — again. She’s in a great position to blackmail Nikolas, too, and settling into one of many rooms on Spoon Island while collecting compensation for her expenses from Nikolas would resolve a lot of immediate problems she’s facing.

Assuming she can secure that little from Nikolas while Ava is staying elsewhere and his son, Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) is in Pentonville, Esme will find herself lurking around the halls of Wyndemere within earshot of Nikolas’ conversations — and she’s going to hear a critical one.

When Victor and Nikolas once again clash over Nik and Ava’s marriage, Esme may come to realize Victor also has leverage over Nikolas. That being said, Esme knows Victor isn’t a man to mess with, and he may not see her as helpful but a liability. But should they pair up against Nikolas, she serves as proof of a false confession so Nikolas could cover for Ava. Further, Esme is alive and can testify that Ava and Nikolas both knew she fell from the parapet and did nothing about it. In other words, both Victor and Esme have Nikolas right where they want him.

GH Spoilers — Can Eva Jerome And Nikolas Cassadine Withstand This Tug Of War?

Victor seems determined to break Nikolas and Ava apart, but why? We don’t know yet. What we do know is he’s got enough ammunition with Esme on his side to make it happen. Will Nikolas give in to blackmail that will keep him apart from Ava if it means protecting her in the long run? How will Ava feel about that, and will he be able to let her in on the secret, or not?
