“General Hospital” star Hudson West is heading to primetime as he lands a new gig on the upcoming series called “Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.” The young actor will take on the role of Trevor Craft, the son of Peter Craft (Rory Kinnear) and Linda Craft (Piper Perabo). The new show is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 26 on Showtime.
The story is set in 1938 Los Angeles, a time with heightened social and political tension. The city is taken aback by a grisly murder, which draws Detective Tiago Vega (Daniel Zovatto) and his partner Lewis Michener (Nathan Lane) to investigate. The pair finds themselves entangled in an epic story that showcases the rich history of the city.
General Hospital News – What To Expect
In an interview at the winter press tour in Pasadena, California, Executive Producer John Logan said, “The most important thing to remember about this show is, although it’s set in 1938, it’s about 2020.”
“Looking over the world landscape now, I’m struck by parallels to the late ’30s and what’s going on now, particularly the rise of extremist political hatred, of a sort of racist demagoguery that is taken for granted, by the pernicious influence in the danger of a foreign power in our electoral process, in our communication, and particularly by the marginalization and victimization of an ethnic community,” he explained.

Logan revealed that he’s drawn to the 1930s because he believes the structure of Los Angeles during that time closely matches the current state of the city.
“There’s a certain patina and panache to design at that area as we’re sort of moving out of Art Deco into industrialism that was sort of fun to keep exploring.”
Viewers need not watch the first season of “Penny Dreadful” because the second season offers a new story and features different characters.
“It’s a new cast and a completely new landscape,” Logan said.

GH Spoilers – For Wednesday, January 15
Going back to “General Hospital,” it will be a day filled with revelation. Spoilers hint that Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) will reveal more as to how she became Shiloh Archer’s (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) wife before he died.
Viewers recently found out that Nelle prepared the mysterious memorial service for Shiloh. Fans have been speculating that her mysterious husband was Shiloh and it’s finally been revealed to be true. She’ll surely have many more to tell on Wednesday’s episode.
