General Hospital Spoilers: In What World Is Lucas NOT Part Of Wiley’s Custody Hearing?

ABC General Hospital spoilers and recap suggest that something isn’t quite right in Port Charles. That’s because GH fans know that Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes) is nowhere to be found in the entirety of the court hearing that will decide the fate of little Wiley Cooper-Jones (Erik and Theo Olson)! Many GH viewers find this not only odd but flat out wrong.
General Hospital Spoilers – Why Isn’t Lucas Jones A Witness?
One of the strangest things about the whole Wiley story has to do with the fact that Lucas was kind of just there and then gone. Lucas was a prop for the drama that was to arise between Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and the nefarious Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Lucas wasn’t really all that important … was he?
Actually, Lucas was extremely important. Along with Brad Cooper (Parry Shen), Lucas was Wiley’s primary caregiver for the majority of his short life. Lucas’s home was Wiley’s home. Lucas was an integral part of Wiley’s life and he knows the story of what Brad and Nelle did. Why hasn’t Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) called him as a witness against Nelle?
GH Spoilers – Lucas Jones Should Have Fought For Wiley Cooper-Jones
GH viewers might recall that in recent episodes, Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) decided that he was going to be uber noble and give up all his parental rights. However, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) convinced him that this wasn’t actually noble. It was actually cowardly and in reality, it was Valentin giving up on his daughter.
In the same way, many GH fans feel that this is exactly what happened with Lucas. He finds out Wiley isn’t the child he thought he was and immediately Lucas becomes teary-eyed, puts down his head, figuratively pulls out a knife, chops off his own you know what, and hands the kid over to Michael.
Now, while it’s true that Wiley is Michael’s biological son, in no known universe would Wiley be transferred to Michael’s custody lickety-split … regardless of Brad’s misdeeds. Besides that, Lucas was not to blame for Brad and Nelle’s evil plot and was just as much a victim as the rest!
General Hospital Spoilers – Fans Rage In Disbelief
The truth is, even if Lucas gave Wiley over to Michael and everything played out exactly as it has so far, how likely is it that he would just disappear into the sunset? How likely is it that the court would ignore him completely and focus solely on Michael and his wonderful bride?

Not very bloody likely. It’s not normal behavior for any man who has ever been a loving father, and many fans don’t believe it’s normal behavior for Lucas. It’s just not realistic in any sense. Even if one argues that there has to be some conflict, some drama to keep things interesting … fans know there has to be enough reality involved in order for them to suspend their disbelief!
Quite frankly, right now with the whole custody battle that’s raging, many fans have nothing but disbelief and are shaking their heads in utter contempt at the ridiculousness on display at the Port Charles family court.

I believe that the custody hearing is still going on. I think that Lucas more than likely will have some part of it when the new episodes come out.
