General Hospital Spoilers: Is Brenda Headed Back To Port Charles Just In Time To Muddy the Waters Of Carly And Sonny’s Faux Marriage?

General Hospital spoilers report Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) is rumored to be headed back to Port Charles, and it’s possible that she could be the one thing that destroys Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) up-and-coming alibi, courtesy of his ex-wife, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). It’s no secret that Carly and Brenda are hardly one another’s biggest fans.

Add to that Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) being in town to potentially stoke the feeling of nostalgia Brenda is sure to get being back around her old friends. But there could be one lynchpin in this story that brings it all crumbling down around Sonny’s alibi — and that’s Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza).

General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos And Carly Spencer Go All In

It doesn’t seem like Sonny had very much time to pull a plan together when he lured FBI Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) to the Quartermaine residence with plans of taking him out at the boathouse.

While we have to imagine he’s thought about killing the guy before, this can’t be the most ideal and clean way he thought about doing it.

Nevertheless, he needed it to happen somewhere that wasn’t on his own turf, so it made more sense to tell Jagger to meet him at the Q’s to arrest him.

Sonny was being rather careless in assuming Cates wouldn’t tell anyone why he was headed there. Had anyone known, they would have put two and two together that Sonny coaxed him into it.

Now, Sonny’s alibi is probably only going to stick if he and Carly can convince the world that they’re back together again. I never thought I’d see the day that such would be a hard sell, but they’ve hardly been close ever since Sonny came back from Nixon Falls.

Can they convince the authorities, their loved ones, and potentially a judge that their love is genuine? Maybe, as long as everyone stays out of their way.

Most GH fans think Carly is the one person Sonny can’t really stay away from. It may not have looked like that for the last couple of years as Sonny has spiraled out of control and seemed to turn into someone Carly barely recognized, but for a long time, that’s how it was.

But before Carly, there was Brenda. She breathed new life into Sonny, and she loved him even at his worst.

Sound familiar? She still holds a special place in his heart, and her coming back to town could seriously screw up the plans for Carly and Sonny to pretend they’ve reunited.

Brenda has always been Sonny’s favorite flavor of temptation. He sees her and he wants her. Having her back in his orbit would certainly make his head spin. But it’ll be trying for him to keep up the ruse of his faux relationship with Carly when he so badly wants to entertain his old flame.
