General Hospital spoilers offers our condolences to James Patrick Stuart, GH’s Valentin Cassadine on the loss of his father, Chad Stuart. Exact details are not available but Mr. Stuart passed away 12/20/20.

Chad Stuart Was Part Of The 1960s British Invasion Duo Chad And Jeremy

Chad was part of the 1960s British Invasion duo Chad and Jeremy. Jeremy Clyde survives and still has touring plans. The British Invasion transformed America’s, and the world’s idea of rock n’ roll with artists and bands such as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Animals, The Zombies, The Dave Clark Five, and duos, including Peter and Gordon, and Chad and Jeremy! Chad Stuart and Jeremy Clyde began working together as a folk rock duo in 1962 and had their first hit song in the UK with “Yesterday’s Gone” which soon became a smash hit in the US as well.

They had a string of hits in the US, including “Willow Weep for Me”, “Before and After”, and their biggest hit, “A Summer Song.” They disbanded for a time in 1968, the year Chad and Jill Stuart welcomed their baby boy, James Patrick Stuart Chad continued to work in the music industry while Jeremy became a film and stage actor – possibly influencing little James Patrick as he grew older, since Jeremy has remained a family friend throughout the years.

Chad and Jeremy reunited in the early 1980s, recording a new album and performing concerts, including a multi-band British Invasion nostalgia tour. They again disbanded but reunited again in the early 2000s, and enjoyed a semi-regular tour schedule up until 2018, when Chad’s health began to fail and he retired.

James Patrick Stuart Filled In For His Dad On A Concert With Jeremy In 2018

James Patrick Staurt stood in for his dad in at least one concert with Jeremy in 2018. He was quoted as saying he was filling in for his father at McCabe’s in Santa Monica. James Patrick first saw Chad play there as a solo act in 1972. After a life time, this was the first time Jeremy and he had sung together. They sang “Summer Song” together.

Anyone who has watched James Patrick as Valentin perform in the Nurses’ Balls can tell he inherited his father’s musical talent. James Patrick tweeted a sweet memory of his father in the hours after Chad’s death, and wrote a little poem. He later tweeted a link to a favorite song of his dad’s and Jeremy on You Tube, ironically titled “Rest In Peace”.

James Patrick has followed in his father’s footsteps with a musical career in addition to his acting career, with such releases as “The Apple Tree” an album of original music available as an MP3, and a music video, “Mr. Give” both available through his website at http://jamespatrickstuart.com/.

Chad Stuart, like his son James Patrick Stuart played piano and drums, wrote songs and sang. He also played banjo.
