While part of her is doing this to take down certain villains, the other part of her simply can’t deal with the grief. At one point, even Jason urged Carly to get some help. Just a few weeks later, Carly began hallucinating Sonny.

Even though we haven’t seen Carly have any more visions, it’s because she’s using every waking second to focus on everything but her grief. Eventually, Jason will be cleared, karma will come for Peter August (Wes Ramsey), and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will be handled. When all those pressing issues get resolved and the dust settles, Carly’s grief could erupt in unexpected and horrifying ways.

Meanwhile, Sonny isn’t trying to find answers about his mysterious past. He has a gut feeling that his old life wasn’t that great. So, he is perfectly content to leave Sonny and the forgotten memories in the past. As for Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) keeping quiet about Sonny’s real life, the actress told Soap Opera Digest that it has nothing to do with spite or revenge. Nina’s secret isn’t about hurting Carly.

Watros explained that for the first time, Nina sees Sonny living a happy life. He seems carefree, relaxed, content, and embraces his freedom. So, Nina believes that Sonny’s amnesia is a gift. She figures this is how Sonny’s life is supposed to be and she’s not going to question fate.

General Hospital spoilers for May Sweeps confirm that Jason goes on the run with Britt. With the long-running ABC soap, storylines often weave together. Sometimes, characters get connected to a separate plot in unexpected ways. We know that Jason and Sonny have a long history. They also have a deep connection that has survived impossible obstacles, including death, memory mapping, as well as the Jason Morgan/Drew Cain storyline.

Remember, even when nobody was certain if Jason was really Jason, Sonny brought him back into the fold without hesitation. So, could Jason be the one to do the same for Sonny? Sonny has no desire to find out about his past. So, even if Carly found out today that her husband is alive, that doesn’t mean they will get their old lives back. Carly would assume that once Sonny sees her that it will trigger his memories. But that might not happen. In fact, Carly could face something even more devastating than Sonny’s death.

Sonny and Carly could meet and she will probably tell the story of their marriage, children, and life. What if this doesn’t bring Sonny back to Carly? Could Sonny reject Carly and refuse to go back to his old life? Carly might be able to keep going by hoping that everything will go back to normal once Sonny gets his memories back. But here is a cruel, soapy twist… says Sonny suddenly remembers everything about his life and still rejects Carly? It could end up being the one thing that pushes Carly off the edge.
