General Hospital (GH) spoilers hint that there’s a good chance Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) could escape his WSB prison, return to Port Charles, and take down Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes).
While many are saying it’ll be impossible for Jason to get out of the spy agency’s grips, this is “Stone Cold” we are talking about, so let’s discuss what happens next in this storyline.
Jason Morgan’s Plight
General Hospital spoilers remind fans that the WSB was quick to take Jason into custody and haul him away to parts unknown, after word broke that the henchman had shot Cullum.
Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) recently offered some intel on Jason to Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) that her BFF was in Indonesia, Jakarta specifically, with the spy agency keeping a watchful eye on him.
Almost everyone on canvas believes, or is worried, that they’ll never see Jason again, because the WSB has him.
There are theories of execution with no trial, and it’s been mentioned that they may present Jason with a deal to become an agent to avoid prison or death. Either way, this would mean Jason stays far away from his loved one in PC.
While Jason’s fate seems grim right now, GH viewers know that he will be back at some point in the summer as actor Steve Burton is merely taking a break to spend time with his family and new wife. With that said, it’s hard not to speculate on how he’ll return.
Jason’s Mission
Could Jason find out that Cullum survived his shooting? Whether a WSB guard or potentially a fellow prison mate tells him, this could shake Jason to his core.
After all, he willingly confessed to protect Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), but Jason may have also been under the impression that Cullum was dead (or on his deathbed) when he was taken away.
Jason knows what a dangerous man Cullum is. As a double agent, he’s vile and has done some pretty awful things. Will Jason worry about Danny Morgan’s (Asher Antonyzyn) safety with Cullum recovered?
He may feel as if the potential for Cullum to go after Danny is great. Still, Jason will definitely be concerned about Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).
This could be the motivating factor to trigger Jason to escape WSB custody. The when, where, and how of Jason’s escape isn’t that important; fans know the skill set the henchman has and how cunning he is when it comes to circumstances like the one he’s in.
With that said, Jason may return to Port Charles and remain hidden somewhere (maybe he and Valentin Cassadine [James Patrick Stuart] will bunk together in Carly’s attic?)
All joking aside, Jason will remain focused on bringing Cullum down, whether that be through killing him and sealing the deal or proving his double agent status. Not only because it means clearing his name, but to keep his loved ones safe from the WSB Director’s wrath.
