General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that fans are buzzing online now that the news has hit about Steve Burton’s return. He’ll likely reprise his infamous “Stone Cold” Jason Morgan role, although, in the land of daytime drama, one never knows.
The romantic winds within Port Charles are changing. With Drew Cain’s (Cameron Mathison) new attitude change since being released from prison, and Nina Reeves’s (Cynthia Watros) SEC secret revealed, fans can’t help but think that a CarSon reunion is on the horizon. Still, how would a returning Jason Morgan affect this?
General Hospital Spoilers – Was The Darly Romance A Placeholder For Jarly?
GH spoilers note that Jason abruptly left storylines in November 2021. While he was buried in rubble after a faceoff between him and Peter August (Wes Ramsey) and believed to be dead, viewers know all too well that no one is ever truly “gone” in the land of soaps.
Actor Steve Burton was fired from the ABC show after they placed a COVID-19 vaccine mandate in their policy.
It’s hard not to see that the “end game” back then was for CarSon to break up, only for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) to gravitate toward Nina and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to truly explore her feelings for Jason.
After all, Jarly revealed their feelings for each other before they got married, only to abruptly part ways when Sonny returned from Nixon Falls.
When Jason left, Carly got closer to Drew, and the rest is history. With Steve and Jason back in the picture, will fans finally get to see this love triangle unfold?
GH Spoilers – The CarSon Versus Jarly Dynamics
Carly’s two great loves have always been Jason and Sonny. She’s had multiple opportunities to explore a romance with the mob boss, but other than the one-night stand the two had in their early days, Jason and Carly have never had the chance to have a true romance.
They certainly unleashed a fury of emotions and had a breakthrough prior to their 2021 wedding, but before they got to “consummate” things, Sonny was back, and Jason stepped aside.
With all that’s gone done since Jason has “died”; Carly’s perceived betrayal by Sonny (thanks to Nina), and their marriage and family falling apart, if Stone Cold were to re-enter the picture.
Even if she and Sonny have reconciled, this would change the CarSon dynamics and affect a reunion. Having the potential for a “second chance” with Jason will rock Carly’s world.

Viewers all know Carly has always had the hots for Jason, but I don’t feel he has the same. Putting Jason back on canvas will change a number of things for different cast members. Hopefully it will not be a back and forth game between Sonny/Carly/Jason and this time around Jason will be able to establish a balance in his life between his devotion to Carly/Sonny and have a life of his own. I believe every long time GH viewer knew when SB departed he would return at some point in time – that time has come and the stage has been set for his return. Hopefully, writing will support his return and will be intertwined in a way it will bring interest to stories already on canvas and help them to be concluded in a way new material will be brought forth in the New Year.
Please do not put Jason and Carly together as a couple. They have always been like brother and sister, always there for each other, and Just watching them kiss was nauseating. The thought of them having sex makes me want to puke…

I can’t see Jason with anyone but Sam. It was so disgusting that they put Jason and Carly together and made it seem like they were soul mates and longing for each other when in fact that Jason and Sam were soul mates and always found their way back to each other
That was the best ending to the General Hospital 60th Anniversary Special. It seems like every time he comes back to GH he never comes in easy but makes a dynamic announcement with an entrance like this one because he likes to shock his fans. Can’t wait to see when Spinnelli sees he’s alive. He’s going to go nuts.
Iam excited to see Jason coming back to GH . Drew will be gone as Carla gets back ti Jason.
What can I say except “here we go again”. I am through watching any scenes with Jason and Carly or Sonny and Carly. Sick and tired of being sick and tired with that triangle.
I hope that they don’t put Carly and Jason back together. They were like brother and sister and never showed a romantic interest. There ste so many others that can be paired with Jason that would work so much better. So happy that Nina will finally get hers!
Kudos to General Hospital Staff and writers, etc. The GH special was dynamic using Carly, Sam and Jason with the coined phrase when one door opens. Never better plot and writing ever. Keep them coming, we need this type of suspense !
