General Hospital spoilers and updates pose a question that needs answers-Ethan Lovett’s (Christian Howard) gone, and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) quit-blindsiding Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard)! Sonny is left without an enforcer-is there anyone in Port Charles who could fill the bill, who could protect Sonny?
Years Ago, Sonny Hired Shawn Butler, TJ Ashford’s Birth Father
Years ago, Sonny hired Shawn Butler, (Sean Blakemore) TJ Ashford’s (Tajh Bellow) birth father as his enforcer-that was when Jason was missing and presumed dead the first time.
In reality, he’d been kidnapped, as Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) had been also, subjected to memory transfer experiments on Cassadine Island. But Shawn’s long gone, and hasn’t been heard from in years; nobody in Port Charles seems to be appropriate.
What is Sonny going to do with no enforcer, should one be necessary? He understands that Jason doesn’t want to be in the mob anymore and take care of his son-but who’s going to take his place this time?
Does Sonny Have Any Promotable Henchmen?
A fair question might be if Sonny has any promotable henchmen; it doesn’t sound like he does-his other henchmen he used to have haven’t been seen for years.
But since Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) had taken his piers, he hasn’t been doing a lot of business-you don’t even see Corinthos Coffee at Bobbie’s; it seems like Sidwell even took Sonny’s coffee business away!
Sonny has two other businesses in Port Charles that are legal businesses-he still owns Pozzulo’s and the Volonino Gym.
But, the mob isn’t what it used to be in Port Charles, or even on the eastern seaboard; even Selena Wu (Lydia Look) has left the area, being chased off by Sidwell.
By the time she left, the Five Families were down to two, hers and Sonny’s, and there wasn’t much left of either one.
Sonny Will Make A Stunning Announcement Himself
Sonny will make a stunning announcement himself by the end of the week-might Sonny decide to quit the mob himself, since there’s relative calm with Sidwell in jail?
The only problem with that is that just because Sidwell’s in jail, it doesn’t mean Sonny and the rest of Port Charles is home free! But if he doesn’t have an enforcer, and no henchman to rise from the ranks to take Jason’s place, maybe it is time to retire from the mob.
But the problem is as it always has been in the life of a mobster-even if he thinks there aren’t any mob families left to take his territory, once his piers were gone it was gone anyway. Can he build back; maybe he can, and maybe he can’t!
