General Hospital Spoilers: Jason Takes Brennan Up On His Job Offer, But What Are His True Intentions?

General Hospital spoilers report Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) hasn’t been interested in working with any more federal agents since he finally got out from under the late FBI Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates’ (Adam Harrington) thumb.

There is nothing that interests him less than having anyone else on the right side of the law hanging over him and watching or dictating his every move.

But he just may be willing to go out on that ledge again if it means protecting Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) from herself.

After all, that’s why he did it the first time around. This time, he can’t seem to convince her that WSB Agent Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) is bad news.

Does that mean he’ll have to take one for the team and go all-in with Jack just to keep an eye on his budding relationship with Carly?

Not only can Carly not help herself from practically falling all over Jack, but she hasn’t really tried to. Jason has warned her. Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) — who has known Jack for decades — has warned her. She’s not listening.

Carly has a mind of her own and tends to follow her feelings instead of logic when it comes to men. Is it any wonder how many of her relationships have crashed and burned over the years, and how many Jason has had to rescue her from? He’s likely expecting the expected at this point.

If we know Jason, he’s keeping a close eye on what Carly is up to in her private life. He’s not going to breach any boundaries that would leave her upset with him, but Carly should know by now that she doesn’t actually take care of her own business very well.

She’s always getting into trouble and Jason is always having to bail her out. Jack is no different and Jason doesn’t want to see her get wrapped up in some kind of obligation to him that she can’t backpedal safely away from.

Trusting him is a mistake in Jason’s book, and that may be a strong reason that he would subject himself to Jack’s terms before letting him sink his teeth into Carly.

That being said, Anna has already cautioned that Jack is very slick. She’s seen him pull off some impeccable cons and sabotage people that never saw it coming. Carly may think she’s smart enough to smell a rat, but she’s falling for Jack hook, line, and sinker.

Is it possible that Jack has already picked up on the friendship between Jason and Carly and how he looks after her? Might he be aware that Jason is only inclined to agree to his terms if it means keeping Carly safe?
