General Hospital Spoilers gush Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is thinking ten steps ahead — or two.

He sat down with Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliott) in an attempt to flesh out what Danny Morgan’s (Asher Antonyzyn) life would look like without Jason in it

It’s reasonable that he’s concerned about what would happen to his son if something happened to him, but I’d have thought he would have gone over all of this with a fine-toothed comb just as soon as Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) died.

It’s been a yard and a half since her death, and he still doesn’t seem to have his ducks in a row. His crumbling to get the pieces into place in a rush now signals that Jason is possibly operating on borrowed time — and that he knows it.

General Hospital Spoilers — One Down, One to Go

Recent claims have surfaced that Jason will be kidnapped, not killed, but we still don’t understand the nuance that could exist around this impending picture.

Steve Burton confirmed weeks ago that he would be stepping out of the spotlight for a few months to spend some much-needed time with family — namely, his new-ish wife, Michelle Lundstrom.

But with Sam already gone, and zero credibility surfacing about the potential for her return, we have to wonder whether Jason is planning more risky moves he doesn’t have to take, or if he’s shoring up to protect himself out of the belief he’ll be under attack soon.

GH Spoilers Spill Jason Knows More Than He’s Letting On

As soon as Alexis said her peace and exited the Quartermaine mansion, Tracy was quick to corner Jason and ask him what was really going on.

His sudden pursuit of guardian for Danny in the event of his death or absence tells us Jason is worried he could disappear from his son’s world soon.

He said he was going to scale back, be more careful, and not put his son’s lives at risk because of his loyalty to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

When Tracy pressed him for information on whatever kind of trouble he is in now, Jason insisted he had no clue what she was talking about.

General Hospital Spoilers — What About Danny?

Has anybody even bothered asking Danny what he would want in this kind of situation — who he would want to live with if his father was also taken too soon? Nope.

While it’s reasonable to expect that it would hit him where it hurts, it’s better than not finding out that you’re an orphan until it’s too late. Jason even bringing this up suggests some element of foreshadowing that may mean he’s going to be “killed” again.

Obviously we know he’s not staying dead because he has already confirmed he will be back this summer. But the fact that he thinks he needs a guardian for Danny in case he dies is a compelling storyline that pushes back on the idea that it won’t be a death, but a kidnapping, this time around.
