General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that social media went crazy this week with the news that Lucky Spencer is finally heading home. OG Lucky, Jonathan Jackson, will reprise his legendary Port Charles role, and the actor recently posted a video message to X/Twitter, as well as Instagram, talking to his fans about his big return.

In the social media video, Jackson confirmed his comeback as Lucky Spencer, which is taking place sometime this summer. He notes in the message that he “can’t wait to dig in and see what’s going on in Port Charles.”

While the actor is excited to reunite with all his former colleagues, he did mention Genie Francis, who plays Lucky’s mom, Laura Collins, specifically, and expressed his thanks to Frank Valentini, the soap’s executive producer, and everyone at ABC.

In addition to Francis and Valentini, Jackson notes in the video message that, “I just wanted to say thank you to all of the fans. Over the years, your persistence and love has certainly played a part in all of this …”
Jonathan entered the Lucky Spencer role, playing the son of iconic super couple Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) and Laura, in 1993. He exited the show in 1999 and would return to daytime drama in 2009, leaving once again in 2011.
He had a short stint on the soap in 2015. During Jackson’s absence as Lucky, actor Jacob Young was in the role from 2000-2003, and Greg Vaughan was also recast from 2003-2009.
During his tenure as Lucky Spencer, Jackson earned a total of five Daytime Emmys with his first win occurring in 1995, when he snagged the statue in the Outstanding Younger Actor category.
