General Hospital Spoilers: Josh Kelly Talks Intimidation & Working With The “Sexy” Jane Elliot

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) has developed a sweet relationship with Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot), although the two weren’t always on good terms.

Tracy tends to build a wall up when people first meet her and can be quite intimidating; however, Cody was able to break down all this, and the two have bonded through horseback riding and have become overall buddies.

Actor Josh Kelly recently spoke to Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about his off-screen friendship with soap opera legend, Jane Elliot.

Kelly tells SOD, “You want to get my energy up? Have me talk about Jane Elliot! I absolutely love working with Jane. Jane loves to rehearse and she’s very particular in the work she does and making it very true.

Because I’m newer to the show, I try to stick to being as word-perfect [and faithful to the script as it is written] as I can. John York [Mac Scorpio] does that, too; that’s one of the reasons we get along so well.

We kind of bonded over that, how we both treat the script like it’s Shakespeare. Some people really like to change the words, and I’ve noticed — not on General Hospital, but on other productions — that sometimes that is just them trying to cover up laziness, because they don’t want to take the time to really memorize the words and figure out the character. Jane is not lazy. She is the opposite — she really, really cares.”

GH Spoilers: Josh Kelly Confesses He Was Nervous Working With Jane Elliot

As the SOD interview progressed, Josh had a confession to make. He admits, he was afraid to work with Jane, and he “over-memorized” everything. Kelly goes on to say that Jane plays such a “tough” character and Elliot herself is a tough cookie, herself.

With that being said, Kelly states that he gets along amazingly with Ms. Elliot, and he looks forward to their scenes together. He also notes that he’s lucky that he does get to work with her, and “it’s an honor” to do so.

But, what does Cody think of Tracy? Kelly says with a grin that he believes Cody thinks Tracy is hot because she’s a powerful woman who says it like it is.

He goes on to note that Ms. Q is cool and “pulls no punches”. Kelly adds that Cody respects Tracy, and he, himself, thinks Elliot is sexy, and believes that is what Bell thinks, too!
