General Hospital Spoilers: Joss’ Talk Of Austin Has GH Fans In A Serious Tizzy — Will The Doc Somehow Return?

General Hospital spoilers exclaim GH fans are going wild over Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks’ (Eden McCoy) subtle drop of Dr. Austin Gatlin Holt’s (Roger Howarth) name in conversation with both Dr. Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and WSB Chief Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) this week. This is yet another storyline that the fans felt was dropped abruptly and brushed under the rug. They wanted a follow-up.

They wanted a resolution and an identity for the person who killed the good doc, as awkward as he was when it came to his intentions with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) — another dropped storyline that fizzled, no doubt. So, is Joss’ name-drop a sign that we may finally wrap up this story? Is it possible that Austin isn’t dead and we’ll see Roger Howarth again — and not in yet another character’s role?

General Hospital Spoilers — A Technical Detail

Austin’s murder was never solved, that we know of. It was clear that day when he answered the door that the person standing at it was someone he recognized. He knew his killer. But themurder occurred at his house in the woods in a neighboring district.

Thus, it was out of bounds for the PCPD, as Detective Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) put it. They probably never checked in on it again. Now, could Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) end up tied to his murder all this time later due to Joss’ sleuthing skills?

Why would Cyrus have killed Austin — perhaps to keep him permanently silenced about their arrangement when Austin testified on Cyrus’ behalf for early release?

GH Spoilers Spill We May Not Get Our Way

As much as the fans would like to return to this storyline and wrap it up in a neat little bow, that may not happen. Even if it does, it absolutely doesn’t sound like a dead man is coming back from the grave — this time anyway.

Austin has barely been mentioned since his death, let alone seen. But if we’re being brutally honest, we’d still welcome seeing Howarth in virtually any role on the sudser, no matter how many times they recycle him.

Of course, this could spell trouble for Joss ahead. For whatever reason, she didn’t see the red flags when she asked Jack to find out whether Austin owned or leased any property at the time of Cyrus’ release from prison.

His immediate willingness to indulge her — as though it’s not a big deal for a federal agent to do off-the-books favors for a young girl such as herself — was alarming.

We foresee Joss scoping out Austin’s place in the woods and chasing down more leads that could propel her into harm’s way. Just what is Jack up to? Unfortunately, it doesn’t sound like Austin will be the one to tell us. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
