General Hospital viewers will recall when Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) first got Dev set up with his fake ID and history, thanks to Brick (Stephen A. Smith) that one thing Sonny stressed to Dev if he wanted to fit in and successfully play the part of an American teenager, that he would have to go to school! Dev balked at that, figuring he would just continue to be a pickpocket and even implied he wanted to work for Sonny – but not in the coffee warehouse or at Volvonino’s Gym, he meant working for him in THE BUSINESS!

Sonny turned him down flat and sent him over to Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) to give him a job in the Metro Court restaurant, and he really tried hard, but wasn’t quite the best fit for the job so Sonny is giving him a try – part-time – at the Corinthos Coffee warehouse.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Promised Tutoring

Sonny promised Dev tutoring and help with his classes, when he objected that he was terrible in school and would be several academic levels below the other kids his age; however, he probably didn’t exactly have his stepdaughter Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) in mind as a tutor, and neither did Dev.

Joss may not exactly be tutoring him but trying to help him with either homework or she may be trying to help him acclimate to high school life and choosing classes. But will Dev fight her on what she is trying to help him with, and insist his ways are better?

General Hospital Spoilers – The World Dev Grew Up In Is Totally Different From Anything Joss Knows

Joss needs to remember that the world Dev grew up in and how he grew up was totally different than anything in Joss’s growing up experience, and she needs to learn to be patient with him. Dev grew up on the streets of Ankara, Turkey, and on his own like a runaway. He never talks about his family or what happened to them, which could indicate either that they were killed and he may have been a war orphan, or he could have even been a victim of human trafficking or an illegal adoption that never materialized!

He made friends with WSB agents who kind of looked out for him and probably paid him as an informant at times for his help on their cases there. So Dev is having some adjustment problems to his new life, acting on instinct instead of following orders. Sometimes acting on instinct can be a good thing, like if he felt there was danger and acted accordingly, calling for help, but other times it’s better to let others who know the drill better to give guidance.

General Hospital Spoilers – As Long As Joss Doesn’t Get Bossy Or Try To Mother Dev, Things Should Be OK

As long as Joss doesn’t get too bossy (that could be difficult if she opens her mouth and her mother comes out!) or try to mother Dev, things should be okay and there shouldn’t be too much conflict between them as she tries to help him with his classes. But if she acts like she is superior or that she knows more than he does in anyway, conflict will ensue!
