Kathleen Gati, also known as Liesl Obrecht on General Hospital, shared a touching story about her late mother back when she was still starting out. It was spurred by a tweet made by a fan, David Thielen.
Thielen shared a clip from the 1981 thriller “Ms. 45,” Gati’s first big-screen role, and tagged the actress. The film was about a mute seamstress who was raped and who randomly shot men with a .45 caliber pistol as an act of revenge. The video showed Gati walking onscreen.
The actress immediately reacted and said. “OMG! My very first role! Mom was visiting her ‘aspiring actress’ daughter in NYC. We went to see #Ms45 in a big Times Square theater. When I crossed the screen, Mom proudly exclaimed in her thick Hungarian accent ‘Kati, datz YOU!’ Sadly she never got to see any of my success.”
Gati As Liesl Obrecht on General Hospital – Spoilers For The Week of March 16
Viewers may recall that Liesl is currently in jail after she was set up to take all the blame for Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) crime. Franco ( ) thinks she’s innocent and is working on the case to prove it. Unfortunately, it seems like it’s only Franco who believes her side of the story.
Dr. Obrecht will receive a visit from her daughter, Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud). She’s hoping her daughter will give her the support she needs, but she’s mistaken. It seems like Britt will side with Peter on this. She won’t believe her mother’s claims that she’s been framed for the crimes Peter committed. Instead, she’ll meet up with her half-brother and spend time together.
