General Hospital Spoilers: Kelly Monaco Temporarily Replaced By Lindsay Hartley, Will She Be Back?

ABC General Hospital spoilers reveal that when the long-running ABC soap opera returns in August, there will be one major difference. The role of Sam McCall will look a bit different. That is because Passions and Days of Our Lives alum Lindsay Hartley will be replacing Kelly Monaco. However, is this permanent or is it just a temporary fill-in? GH is supposed to come back in August 2020, which is literally just around the corner. There will be a lot of changes and adjustments due to COVID-19. In addition to safety measures, coronavirus testing, social distancing, and possibly rewriting some scenes, there will be one other significant difference. One of the characters will not look like herself.

GH Spoilers: Sam McCall, You’ve Changed!

According to Daytime Confidentiality, Monaco won’t be seen on screen when the soap first returns to the air. Instead, viewers will be seeing another actress taking over the role. However, fans shouldn’t worry too much. It’s not permanent and there is probably a really good reason for the decision.

Kelly Monaco’s Hip and Spine Procedures

General Hospital spoilers reveal that earlier this year, Monaco actually had to deal with pregnancy rumors. She gained a bit of weight, but that’s normal. After all, she is a human being and not a robot. At that time, the actress explained that she was recovering from hip and spinal procedures. Not only are those serious and physically limiting procedures, but it affected her ability to work out like she normally would.

Plus, those kinds of procedures require very long recovery time. While Daytime Confidentiality didn’t disclose the reason for the fill-in, it is possible that Monaco could still be in the recovery stages.

General Hospital Spoilers: Lindsay Hartley Just Filling In

The report does not state how long the temporary replacement will be. However, we do know that the actress chosen to fill in for Monaco is Lindsay Hartley from Passions (Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald) and Days of Our Lives (Arianna Hernandez). In addition to that soap, you might also recognize her from All My Children (Dr. Cara Castillo Martin), The Bay (Sammie Sullivan), and an extensive number of made-for-TV movies.
