General Hospital spoilers and updates hint that Kevin Buchanan (Dan Gauthier) might step in to assist Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Could he become the newest One Life to Live character to make his way to Port Charles?
A familiar name from Llanview has resurfaced, and it could mean another exciting crossover for longtime ABC soap fans!
Key Takeaways
- Kevin Buchanan could make a surprise appearance in Port Charles
- Drew suggests using The Llanview Banner to help Curtis
- Former One Life to Live characters have crossed over to GH before
- Nora Buchanan’s previous visits offer a possible precedent
- Kevin’s return could open the door for more Llanview connections
We Can’t Forget When Several Llanview Characters Came To Port Charles
We can’t forget when several Llanview characters came to Port Charles shortly after One Life to Live and All My Children went off the air. Roger Howarth and Michael Easton first arrived as their OLTL characters.
There were several others as well, including Florencia Lozano as Téa Delgado, Robin Christopher as Skye Quartermaine, and Kristen Alderson as Starr Manning.
But the Prospect Park lawsuit put a quick end to those storylines, and that’s when Roger became Franco Baldwin, Michael became Silas Clay, and Kristen became the first Kiki Jerome.
When AMC and OLTL were still on the air, there were several GH characters who also appeared on those shows. There was a good deal of travel between the fictional communities.
But even after the shows went off the air and the Prospect Park company went out of business, there have been Llanview characters traveling to Port Charles.
DAILY POLL
Others From One Life To Live Have Appeared On GH As Their OLTL Characters
General Hospital boasts a rich tradition of welcoming guest stars from the beloved, now-defunct ABC soap operas All My Children and One Life to Live. Kevin Buchanan could very well be Port Charles’ newest arrival.
Monet Mitchell (Blythe Howard) is working to overturn Curtis’ conviction by highlighting his courageous actions. Her strategy involves publicizing how Curtis heroically rescued Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) from danger.
Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) raised a valid concern that leveraging Aurora would appear prejudicial, so he proposed an alternative approach: contact The Llanview Banner to publish the story.
As seen in the October 26 General Hospital recap, Drew specifically suggested reaching out to Kevin Buchanan as Curtis faced a return to Pentonville.
Llanview, the iconic fictional setting of OLTL, is now reportedly under the leadership of Kevin Buchanan, the son of Victoria Lord (Erika Slezak).
This reference could simply be a tribute to the cherished soap opera, or it might signal something more significant.
Kevin Could Make Some Appearances
There’s potential for a Buchanan to make their way to Port Charles. Hillary B. Smith brought back Nora Buchanan when she arrived in Port Charles during 2017.
The skilled attorney took on Valentin Cassadine’s (James Patrick Stuart) case in a custody dispute with Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) regarding their daughter Charlotte Cassadine (then Scarlett Fernandez).
Additionally, she defended Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) when he faced charges related to concealing his fugitive brother Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom).
As previous coverage of Hillary B. Smith’s return to daytime drama recalled, Nora’s crossover appearances allowed One Life to Live fans to reconnect with a familiar Llanview favorite.
Nora emerged victorious in both cases before heading back to Llanview.
Actors also came from OLTL to play other characters on GH. James DePaiva, who played Dr. David Bensch, previously portrayed OLTL’s Max Holden.
Pine Valley Residents Have Also Appeared In Port Charles
Port Charles has also welcomed a guest from Pine Valley. AMC’s Jackson Montgomery (Walt Willey) returned in 2023 amid a Deception emergency and legal battle. His visit proved brief.
Then came Erika Slezak, who visited GH in a different capacity, not as her iconic character Victoria Lord, but as Ronnie Bard, Monica Quartermaine’s (Leslie Charleson) previously unknown sister.
Kevin could be the next ABC soap personality to visit Port Charles. Since Drew appears familiar with him, he might persuade the newspaper proprietor to partner with Curtis’ group in efforts to overturn his conviction.
Perhaps this time, the character could remain longer and build genuine connections with Port Charles’ community.
Could Kevin and The Banner become instrumental in helping Curtis achieve his goals? And while they’re at it, could Chris L. McKenna reprise his former OLTL role as Kevin’s brother Joey Buchanan?
Annemarie’s Take
Now this is a crossover I would love to see! I always enjoyed it when characters from One Life to Live and All My Children showed up in Port Charles. It made the ABC soap world feel so much bigger!
And I have to say, bringing Kevin Buchanan into Curtis’ storyline would make sense. Drew has already mentioned him, so why not take things one step further and actually bring him to town?
Of course, mentioning a familiar character doesn’t guarantee an appearance, but I think longtime soap fans would love the surprise. And if it eventually opened the door for Joey Buchanan too, that would be even better!
Be sure to catch up on everything happening with GH right now. Would you like to see Kevin Buchanan arrive in Port Charles, and which other One Life to Live characters would you bring back? Let us know in the comments!
