The Plot

“Almost Family” is a story about Julia Bechley (Brittany Snow), the only child of Leon Bechley (Timothy Hutton). She learns that her father, who is an acclaimed and pioneering fertility doctor, throughout his career, used his own sperm to father a hundred children.

Julia finds out that she has two new sisters, her former best friend Edie Palmer (Megalyn Echikunwoke) and an ex-Olympic athlete, Roxy Doyle (Emily Osment).

The three young women try to cope that they’re family while Julia learns how to live without her father. Meanwhile, Edie’s marriage hits the rocks and she comes to grips with her sexuality. On the other hand, Roxy goes on with her life, leaving the spotlight behind.
