General Hospital Spoilers: Kin Shriner Speaks Out Against Lack Of Airtime And Vets’ Treatment On ABC Soap

General Hospital’s Kin Shriner, who has played Scott Baldwin for 42 years, he took to social media to express his annoyance with not only his treatment as a GH Veteran but the treatment of his character as well.

General Hospital – Scott Baldwin’s Role Has Been Drastically Reduced

General Hospital’s Kin and fans alike have to wonder why Scott gets no airtime to speak of after being given a son who has a family onscreen. When Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth) went through the memory mapping procedure to return to his family, Scott was right there pulling to get his son back.

There was a lot of talk about how Scott wanted his son back and how they would spend time as a family. Scott claims to love Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) children as his grandchildren and wants to be a family with them all. So why has the actor and character been reduced to nothing more than a day player?

Kin is upset over the treatment of his character and was very vocal about that. Shiner posted to his Twitter account saying: “I have a couple of shows @General Hospital coming up but embarrassed to continue to promote a character I have played for over 42 years is now a day player. Thank you for your support over the years!”

Obviously, Shiner would like more airtime or for something to happen with his character instead of an occasional appearance with no substance. Scott has a lot of fans still out there who agree with Kin and would like to see more of Scott as well.

GH – Kin Shriner Joined GH In 1977

General Hospital’s Scott has been a fixture in Port Charles since 1977. Scott was the onscreen love interest of Laura Collins (Genie Frances) and, of course, the nemesis of bad boy Luke Spencer (Tony Geary). Scott has also gone up against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Scott may be a lawyer and former prosecutor but he also adds a great deal of comic relief to the show.

General Hospital – Scott Baldwin Fans Are Loyal

General Hospital’s Scott’s fans are loyal and very upset that we don’t get to see Scott onscreen. It seemed that Scott and Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman) were going to rekindle their romance on the show. However, that connection seems to have fizzled as well as most of Scott’s connections. Soap fans realize that actors come and go but we love our vets and would like to keep as many of them as we can. Unfortunately, it seems that General Hospital executives would rather show the newer characters to try to attract new viewers. The lack of veteran characters and actors tend to make veteran viewers feel that we aren’t wanted any more than the veteran actors are.

Considering that General Hospital is the last remaining ABC soap opera, one would think that all the viewers and actors should be important. Unfortunately, Kin has not been the only veteran actor to speak out against their lack of airtime or the storylines and probably will not be the last.

Yes I believe they could write him into some of these storylines. He’s a lawyer. Get him in there really winning against some of these villians.

  • Mary Lou Hunnell Zeravica

Yes. More of Kin and maybe a romance with Bobbi Spencer.
