General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that the land of Port Charles can be a dangerous one, even for a sweet and funny character like Maxie Jones (Kristen Storms). With that being said, sometimes everyday people (and soap actresses), can fall victim to crazy incidences, even in their own homes.
General Hospital Spoilers – Who Knew A Coffee Tin Could Cause So Much Damage?
Actress Kirsten Storms recently hopped on Instagram to share an interesting photo of herself, along with a funny story. Storms posted a selfie, seemingly sporting a black eye. Of course, her caption explains things a little better.
She started by admitting in the caption that this was indeed a funny story. While generally, Storms has zero issues opening a tin of coffee, the morning her selfie was taken, things took a turn for the terrible.
The actress states, “I’ve opened several canisters of @illy_coffee tins and never have the grounds exploded out of that cute metal container. ::sigh:: There is a first time for everything.”
The grounds exploded in her face, leaving her with what seemed like a black eye, so thankfully it was coffee grounds and not something worse! She joked in her IG caption that she preferred her coffee brewed over ice and in hot water versus straight from the container and on her face! Still, the actress realized it was all on her since the lid does have a warning label about this (in multiple languages no less).
GH Spoilers – Finola Hughes Chimes In On The Post
Fellow soap stars and GH colleagues hit the comments section, including Rebecca Budig (new Taylor Hayes on the Bold and the Beautiful, former Hayden Barns on GH), Marc Anthony Samuel (GH’s Felix Dubois), and Jennifer Lilley (Days ex-Theresa Donovan). Still, it was Finola Hughes’ (GH’s Anna Devane) comment that was the most relatable to fans.
Hughes admitted she was confused when she first saw the selfie on IG, stating, “I thought it was a GH storyline!! I’m thinking ‘who would dare to give Maxie a black eye?’”
No one can blame Finola … after, at first glance, the photo does look like Storms has a shiner!

Great that Kirsten has such a good sense of humor. First thought the same as Finola Hughes. Both are these ladies are all time favorites.
My first thought was, who the heck is Kristen Storms, because they are not my family or friends, I have no need to identify by any other name other what they use on the soap. I am sooo happy that there was no damage to her, and she’s alright.
