General Hospital Spoilers: Laura and Cyrus Go Head To Head, Sparks Fly – Genie Francis Tells All

There has been a lot of drama on General Hospital recently ever since Cyrus Renault has come to Port Charles. First, taking a hit at the Corinthos family as he tried to eliminate each of the members. He went on to kill off all but one of the members of the task force who had been in charge of taking him down and did so by falsifying evidence.

After that, he went on to kidnap TJ in order to get Jordan to help him to get out of prison. Saying that Cyrus has shaken things up maybe an understatement. He has also crossed paths with Laura a few times as well, and although Laura is less than thrilled by the appearance of the new Villain, Francis, who plays Laura, think that Cyrus’s actor, Jeff Kober is a great fit for the show.

General Hospital Updates – Genie Francis And Jeff Kober On GH

Genie Francis said in a recent interview with TV Insider, “He’s just fantastic. What’s amazing about [Jeff] is that he’s fantastic in one take. He doesn’t come from the soap opera world. Actors who haven’t done a lot of work on a soap can sometimes be very intimidated based on how fast we do things.” She continued by saying, “Jeff has just fit right in. He’s a lovely human [and plays] such a scary [character]. I love his choices and the secret things that he plays. He’s a wonderful actor and we’re lucky to have him.”

Laura has had her fair share of interactions with the mob boss, Cyrus. However, it is not her first time dealing with mobsters with Frank Smith being one of them as she and Luke had to go on the run from him back in 1980. She went on to say, “I think [Laura] has so much history with the mob and she’s been tormented by that. It’s taken so much from her life and damaged it. It’s almost like she has nothing else to lose. If she does one thing before she dies, she’s going to stand up to it. She feels she’s going to stand up and fight. It’s been loads of fun.

It seems that Genie is excited for this storyline and happy that she gets to work alongside Jeff as she continued by saying, “I’m lucky I have Jeff to work with. I’m also really grateful that the writers are doing this story. This all falls into the history of the character. It brings us right back to a real Laura.” We’ll give you updates as GH news comes in.
