General Hosptial Spoilers – Laura Spencer Has A New Mission

GH viewers may recall that when Cyrus got himself transferred from Thompson Penitentiary in the Pacific North West to Pentonville prison, his organization began moving into the territory of a mafia boss, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). During one such incursion, Cyrus arranged an assassination attempt on the lives of Sonny’s family members at multiple locations. During one of the shootouts, Laura was there and got shot in the stomach.

Thankfully, Laura’s wound wasn’t fatal. Once she recovered, however, it became clear that the town’s mayor had a new mission. Of course, Laura’s new pursuit was the removal of Cyrus Renault as a threat not only to Port Charles but to those she loves. The goal Laura’s tasked herself with reaching, however, may not be so easy to realize.

GH fans may recall that over the past month or so, Cyrus has run circles around the PCPD and police commissioner, Jordan Ashford (Briana Nicole Henry). Not only was he able to make moves against Port Charles’s most influential and powerful Mafioso, but he ensured the deaths of undercover DEA agents one right after the other! In fact, Cyrus has operated with relative impunity and no one has been able to stop him.

GH Spoilers – Laura Spencer Reaches Out To Sonny Corinthos

Laura herself has attempted to push Jordan into taking measures that are more drastic. During her conversations with the police commissioner, Laura’s urged Jordan to begin using the same tactics that Cyrus is willing to use. GH viewers have seen Jordan refuse to lower herself to Cyrus’s level despite Laura’s desire, however. (Actually, Jordan’s own husband has begged her to consider the same thing to no avail.)

The town’s mayor has also reached out to Sonny Corinthos for help. Although Laura hasn’t explicitly asked for Sonny to do what everyone thinks mobsters do and ensure that Cyrus meets an untimely end, her intentions have seemed clear.

On her own, GH fans have seen Laura take matters into her own hands. She’s worked to make sure Cyrus was put in solitary confinement (despite the fact that mayors usually don’t have that kind of power). Obviously though, Cyrus continues to operate unimpeded. Laura recognizes that.

GH viewers have to begin asking themselves what options Laura has left to consider. After all, not only was she shot in the stomach, but the life of her grandson, Cameron Webber (William Lipton) was threatened when he was kidnapped by Cyrus’s henchmen along with Trina Robinson (Sydney Mikayla.)

Is it possible that Laura may get tired of waiting for Jordan and the PCPD to put an end to Cyrus’s reign of terror? Could Laura become too frustrated with the fact that Sonny apparently seems unwilling to create an “accident” for the drug kingpin?

If so, could GH viewers watch Laura descend from an upstanding Port Charles politician to a desperate, calculating, would-be murderer? Or could Laura have a plan in mind she’s keeping to herself for now?

Regardless, if matters don’t change soon, and with the lives of Laura Spencer’s family on the line, it won’t be long before GH fans just might find out.
