General Hospital Spoilers: Laura Caught Between Love and War as a Ghost From the Past Returns

General Hospital spoilers and updates tease Laura Spencer’s (Genie Francis) marriage will be in trouble in upcoming episodes of the ABC soap, as an old enemy returns to Port Charles.

As revealed in Soap Opera Digest summer spoilers, she’ll take a trip to Ireland to spend time with Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) and Ace Cassadine (Karis and Kieran Barry) but return without a husband.

Has The Time Apart Been Too Much For The Couple To Withstand?

Has the time apart been too much for the couple to withstand, and Kevin’s grown away from Laura, or worse yet, has he cheated?

That would be hard to believe, but more than likely this is  just a more permanent exit for Kevin, since Jon Lindstrom is on contract with Beyond The Gates as Joey Armstrong.

General Hospital films in Hollywood, whereas Beyond The Gates films in Atlanta, Georgia and he’s not able to do both with that commute, and they have approximately the same filming schedule.

It would be different if it was like NBC Peacock’s Days of Our Lives, which films close to a year ahead now-and you’ll have noticed if you watch both, Wally Kurth (Ned Quartermaine) is on both.

But the timing is far enough apart that Wally can film an arc as Ned, and still film appearances as Justin Kiriakis, like he has for the past thirty years or so.

While Laura’s Away, An Old Enemy Returns To Port Charles

But while Mayor Laura’s away, to make matters worse, an old enemy returns to Port Charles and makes trouble-perhaps someone from the old Irish mob storyline related to Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson).

Longtime fans will remember he went undercover as a doppelganger of someone who died,  named Ronan O’Reilly, an assassin for the Irish mob.

While the spoilers say Laura’s trip to Ireland spells trouble for her marriage, and even bigger trouble for Port Charles, it doesn’t spell out what kind of trouble.

While it would be incredibly sad for fans who’ve loved Kevin all these years, it’s possible an old enemy of Ronan’s  could come after Laura, connecting her to “faux Ronan”.

Kevin could die a hero, with Laura and Ace escaping, but then this old enemy of “faux Ronan” aka Lucky, could  track her back to Port Charles!

This New Villain Would Arrive After Jenz Sidwell’s Taken Down

This new villain-or old villain, as the case could be, would arrive after Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) taken down.

Poor Laura has spent so much of her life jumping out of frying pans into fires, to see her widowed would be a terrible tragedy, and she’ll need to try and make peace in her family as well.

Neither of her grandchildren, Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr) or Charlotte Cassadine (Bluesy Burke) will be happy with their parents’ decisions and she’ll try to make peace.

Laura seems to be ahead for a continuation of tumultuous danger and possibly tragedy, so be sure to stay tuned in and watch to see how it plays out!
