General Hospital spoilers tease that Laura Collins (Genie Francis) will be thrown for a loop by news about Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) in an upcoming episode of General Hospital!
General Hospital Spoilers – Laura Collins Receives News That Ryan Chamberlain Is Alive And Awake
General Hospital viewers will recall that Laura has been out of town for quite a while. She was tracking down leads on Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) as was Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Then they teamed up, once they found out the patient he was housing on Wilson Street in Astoria, Oregon had been moved to a care home in Vermont. It was there she found that the patient was none other than the same Florence Grey (Annie Abbott) that was the wife of her own birth father, Gordon Grey (Eric Server, Howard Sherman).
She also found out that Cyrus and Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) were brothers – and that they were her half-brothers! Ryan was brought in to General Hospital from Pentonville Prison, where he was stabbed in the back by one of Cyrus’s henchmen. He had remained in a coma until very recently but because of Cyrus’ budget cuts he wasn’t kept constantly watched. The assessment that was made on him resulted in a diagnosis of an indefinite coma similar to that of Lulu Spencer (Emme Rylan). However, it was Felix DuBois (Marc Anthony Samuel) who made that assessment, not a neurologist. Right now, things at General Hospital are so tight they squeak, and both doctors and nurses are pulling double duty, sometimes even in fields they haven’t been formally trained in! Laura finds out not only is Ryan alive, he is awake, and worse than that, he is missing!
GH Spoilers – Ryan Chamberlain Is On The Loose
Laura discovers there were no guards because Ryan was not properly diagnosed. She suspects Cyrus didn’t want police there so that was likely part of it too. The Port Charles Police Department would have been happy to assign some manpower to ensure Ryan was restrained should he have awakened. There would have been no charge to General Hospital, and a dangerous prisoner like Ryan should have had guards and should have been restrained. He was not. She doesn’t blame anyone on the staff – they have no actual neurologist, so there are no experts. The expensive equipment necessary for a patient like Ryan to be properly monitored is not at General Hospital. That’s why Laura had Lulu transferred to a facility in New York City that had what was needed for her care! Everyone just assumed that Ryan was not a danger because he was “comatose”.

However, his eyes fluttered open and he smirked, showing his brain was active and working after a visit by Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) and Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West). Felix interrupted or Nikolas would have pulled the plug on Ryan – but even if he had, it may not have mattered! Chances are, at least from the point that Ryan opened his eyes and smirked at something he heard Nikolas and Ava talking about, he was faking! Ryan has had medical training – and would know how to fake a coma! Now he is on the loose, and no one, including Cyrus himself, is truly safe! Laura, along with the rest of Port Charles, can only try to watch their backs!
