General Hospital spoilers reveal Laura Collins (Genie Francis) was stunned to find out she is Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) health care proxy. Knowing she is charged with making medical decisions for Heather if she cannot choose such for herself is a responsibility that perhaps only a woman like Laura could handle.
But the upcoming surgery and subsequent treatment that should clear Heather’s body of the toxic levels of cobalt that are poisoning her could produce rather alarming results.
Will Heather’s spontaneous recovery from being mentally unstable lead Laura to put her trust in her old friend all too soon?
General Hospital Spoilers — Heather Webber Bounces Back
Heather is about to undergo surgery to replace her artificial hip. Removing the cobalt and replacing it with a safer material is the tip of the iceberg.
She’ll have to undergo a heavy detox protocol to rid her body of the accumulated cobalt that has led to her developing metallosis.
While her provider is suggesting her markedly concerning behavior in recent years might have manifested because of the heavy metal poisoning, some people — like Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) — aren’t so quick to believe Heather isn’t truly a dangerous psychopath.
So when she does an about-face and looks much more like the younger version of herself Laura remembers as her friend, it could be a slippery slope for her if the mayor isn’t careful.
GH Spoilers – Hint Laura Collins Goes To Bat
Knowing Laura, she’s going to advocate on Heather’s behalf to the best of her ability. If she’s truly convinced that Heather has reversed course, she may go out on a limb or two to help her out.
That includes pushing for the repeal of prior sentences that left Heather convicted and serving time for the rest of her life. Those sentences were rendered under the presumption that Heather was mentally ill and always would be.
Learning that her mental health problems stemmed more so from temporary — albeit long-term — poisoning will change everything for Laura.
General Hospital Spoilers — Things Aren’t What They Seem
While Heather’s behavior and demeanor will be entirely different than they have been in years, what will really hit home for Laura is how much she seems like her old self. Once upon a time, these two women were friends — and family.
Will they be able to reunite in the wake of Heather’s recovery? It sounds like it! Unfortunately, we can almost rest assured that Heather will be faking it — and she might be able to dupe both Laura and Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).
Finding herself in much closer proximity to her grandson — Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay) — is Heather’s ultimate goal, and she’ll stop at nothing to abscond with him. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this shakes out.
