While some fans hope it is the end of this toxic pairing for good and they can find people that make them a little happier, others believe they are endgame and the true loves of each other’s lives. (As if Jason Morgan and Brenda Barrett never existed.) And as Carly Corinthos walked in on Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) in bed, Laura Wright has a lot to say on why Carly feels as enraged as she does.

According to Wright, Carly’s biggest beef is the fact that Sonny lied to her — or at the very least omitted the truth regarding his feelings about Carly. “The problem is that it was always like — ‘Oh I just want to keep the peace…let’s just let it go,” Wright said in the February 22, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “But he was doing all that because he wouldn’t tell her the truth. He was lying to her, which only means that he wanted to perpetuate the situation. But we don’t know what would have happened if he had told her the truth because he didn’t.”

GH Spoilers – Carly Cotinthos Has A Brand-New Enemy

To make matters worse, he did this all for a woman that Carly can’t stand, so Carly is extra miffed this time around. Then again, there aren’t too many women Carly CAN stand, so would she really be any different if her enemy were someone else? Not according to Wright.

“Carly can’t believe that Sonny is still connected to this woman who truly destroyed her family,” Wright said. “What happened to the Sonny who would be like, ‘You’re dead to me and I’m going to crush you. That’s the partner that Carly was used to having.'”

If Sonny and Carly ever do get back together, would Carly accept this new kinder, gentler Sonny — perhaps the Sonny he has always been but who Nixon Falls brought out? Nina does and Sonny seems to like his new self, so stay tuned to General Hospital weekdays to find out.
